How do we get Piper and the 5 lunchboxes in the trailer?

Post » Sun Feb 14, 2016 10:27 pm

Hey all,

Has anyone received Piper and the 5 lunchboxes that the https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kizzTSyvoLQ says comes along with the 1.2 update? Are they supposed to just.. be there when you open your vault?

It is apparently an iOS exclusive.

Yeah... I know the feeling, I have an android phone.

Ya, that hurts a bit. Maybe with the next patch we get the good stuff and ios gets the shaft, it's only fair right?

Like most companies do. Look at EA with their iOS exclusive Giant Plumbob Park for iOS only... Really, i bet it's not a move direct from Bethesda or any other company, i bet they were paid by Apple to see if any of us migrates to iPhone.

It is iOS only. After about a minute in game, if you select a resource from a room, the pop up should arrive.

Probably some business arrangement between Apple and Bethesda. The App Store submission process goes smoother when you have an inside ticket, but Google Play doesn't have the same app submission gatekeeping tactics. Also, having your app be at the top of the App Store downloads list gives more visibility than Google Play's top apps.

That's the mobile biz.

You've got more chance of a bug free Fallout game than getting an honest answer to that one.

'Because Apple paid us a chunk of cash' is the usual answer. Expect it on Android in a month or so, without the free lunchboxes.

One of the more interesting bugs:

There is a screen that shows you all the the possible weapons, outfits, and legendary dwellers that you can collect in game. Each tab will give you a number in the tab like 2/41 indicating the number you have and the total number of different items/dwellers. So my example would be that you have 2 of 41 possible.

When the IOS version first shipped, if you had opened this window before sending any explorers out or opened any lunch boxes, it would have shown Weapons 0/138, Outfits 0/89 and Dwellers 0/20. Meaning there were 138 different weapon, 89 different outfits and 20 different legendary dwellers of which you hadn't collected any.

When it shipped for Android, Preston Garvey was added as a legendary dweller and he came with a weapon and outfit so the max numbers showed as 139, 90 and 21.

Now Piper (who has an new outfit but no weapon) has been added for IOS and not Android so the IOS numbers would be 139, 91, 22 and the Android numbers SHOULD have remained 139, 90 and 21, but they didn't. The Android numbers are 139, 90, 22. Additionally, it isn't just the number in the tab that has been incremented, there actually is a 22d slot for a dweller now. So if Piper is in the Android version, she is she as nekkid as a jaybird.

Bethesda wanted to really honk off part of their player base less than a month from a major release. Why upset the Android users and not the IOS users? Because the Android users are more acclimated to higher adrenaline levels than IOS users.

Great. The OS with 80% market share by numbers takes a back seat to IOS. Utterly unfair. 1.2.1 has a 25 dweller in the wasteland exploration limit. This is still utterly disappointing as there is nothing to do later in the game but explore. Please remove the limit as it makes no sense. What is there some Mao-Stalin forcing the overseer not to send more people out? This goes against the very concept of overseer. Please remove the horrible wasteland dweller limit.
