Ok this might sound stupid but I built a settlement, installed some defences, planted some food, built a bunch of shops.

However when I built the stores, I noticed it required a settlers to manage.
HOW in the world do I set up a settlers to manage a store? (on PC)
I think I've done all I could do but couldn't find a command to order a specific settler to stand behind a store and sell stuff....
(or stand behind a sand wall and guard the entrance of the settlements for that matters)

Any help?

Yeah. While in workshop mode click on a settler then click on the object you want to assign to them. It's that easy.

Once you mark a settler in workshop mode it says "go" to make him move, unless you point at an object like plants, guard posts, trader stands, and then the "go" will change to "assign" and thats when you want to click okay and you will get the top left message that it was successful.

Sorry, I didn't mean to sound condescending. Let me change it to, "it's that simple."

You can also assign them beds so that they won't sleep in your bed. So far I've found that one the most useful for keeping the rabble out of my house.
