In theory, your rig should be able to max it out at 60 FPS. It's a pretty sweet setup, actually; my friend runs much lesser hardware and gets it to max out easily. I'd have to guess that the only reason you're getting a framerate drop is some incompatibility issue with the GPU or some other system-specific problem.

It sounds like you're going to have to do it STALKER-style: as in, you're probably going to have to find people with the exact same problem and attempt fixes based on experimentation. I'd try installing Wasdie's "Advanced Graphics Options" console (you can probably find its thread on the first page) and using trial-and-error to figure out what, if anything, is causing your problem. And, if nothing works, updating your GPU drivers and / or waiting for a Crysis 2 patch could be your other options.

I have Q9550 and GTX460 GS and i works on 720p with Extreme Settings and VSync over 30 FPS! :) So it runs very well on your system!

Your cpu and graphics should be ok. Try medium or high settings.
I doubt about your ram. 4GB is ok but 64-bit is better(more than 6GB minimum recommended).
It's because of lots of application running in the background. Turn off some processes that you don't use including startup items. (except for firewall, anti-virus and explorer.exe of course).

Uhh YEAH. Due to no DX11(hence no multithreading) and no DUAL GPU support, I'm running the game between 30 and 60fps, and the game doesn't even look that good and graphics glitches abound EVERYWHERE!

AMD Phenom II X6 1090T H70 liquid-cooled stable at 4.0Ghz per core
8GB DDR3 Corsair 1600Mhz RAM
DUAL Radeon 6870 1GB GDDR5 930Mhz core 4.6Ghz RAM crossfired
Raptor 10k RPM HDD

I'm running Bad Company 2 maxed out at 120FPS, original Crysis maxed out plus custom HDR and textures at 70FPS minimum and it looks much better than C2.

I get 3DMark11 EXTREME 2750, PERFORMANCE 7230 and this is how Crysis 2 runs? Totally BS game

Single stock GTX 470(no multi-gpu or sli)
PSU : 850 watts
