For fun I'd like to get an idea of where expectations are for crysis visuals on PC.

Have you played the leak? Its a total port. You can even play teh XBox version in the editor and toggle back and forth graphics wise. If you do, you see it is exactly the same as PC medium. Pretty sad having medium setting compared to an XBox. Crysis 1 would have laughed at that. I doubt if a console could have done very low on Crysis 1. And so we end up with a console game played on a PC.

I think I read a comparison where they said that C2 on consoles is the same as C2 on low settings with 1280x720 resolution on PC. I'm sure the graphical difference with the settings maxed out on pc will be significant.

I voted for the one with "Improved Geometry". If there's tessellation, there's definitely gonna be a significant increase of rendered triangles onscreen.

The Beta leak is an older version, so not quite relevant.

I think the PC version will look somewhat better, but not significantly.

It depends on how much effort Crytek put into utilizing the DX10 and DX11 features for Crysis 2. :|

Yeah I think it could look alot better than the beta. I tell you why because today I just got a steam update for Shogun 2 demo, a game I was very impressed with graphically and gameplay is definately growing on me. But FPS was not perfect ok (but not perfect) on max settings at first after the download which I guess must be a frame rate fix all of a sudden it runs like butter. Thing is demo is what 2 and a half days old now so I guess a lot of things do happen in a short time.

Shogun 2 is looking absolutely awesome by the way I'm guessing it pwns the crap out of any and all console games in terms of poly counts and I think there is maybe still some DX11 stuff still to be added in on environments comparing the level in the demo to the trailers. I've seen claims the demo has no DX11 at all but I find this very hard to believe with all the unit detail already in the game.

I think it will look better, no doubt, especially on highest settings. However it will also require more of course.
