On the scale of Skyrim it would be impossible, a single individual would die of old age before its finished. You've got to think that there are hundreds of people involved in the creation of these games and it still takes those people up to four years to create a single title from scratch.

It's impossible on a practical level. Yes, you could do it if given all the right skill, a ton of money, all the right equipment, and decades of free time. It's not impossible in the sense that it could be done, but no one person would ever actually be in a position to do it.
