How has Fallout invaded your personal life?

Post » Wed Jun 16, 2010 1:12 pm

So for one, my wife has a bottle of sleeping pills on he rnightstand, every time I see em I swear it's a bottle of Buffout.

I work in a class 5 cleanroom and our main supplier of cleanroom notebooks is Value Tek, if I look quickly it looks like Vault Tec. :D

I can never again hear the name "Boone" without that beret back please line running through my head. Baseball players, politicians, historical explorers, doesn't matter.
I can never watch another post-apoc movie without thinking of Fallout, including films that came out/I may have seen long long before Fallout games were published.

No different from something reminding you of a scene from a movie.

But don't let me stop you from being so cool.

If I am walking around a vast empty wasteland like area, where there has been a bush fire or abandon houses (filled with all the syringes, magazines and ranom items just like in Fallout, sometime even a homeless man.)

Anytime I see a coke or read the words coca-cola I instantly think of nuka-cola....anytime I see a desert scene in a movie or on TV I always look for similarities to FNV....there have been many times when I thought it sure would be great if I could fast travel!

I had a coco-cola today, and I accidentally called it nuka-cola. I was bored during school one day, so I somehow imagined a deathclaw running in through the window. Precisely at that second, the student behind me scratches his desk with his pencil. I almost yelled

In the early days of my Fallout 'issues' I actually bought a bag of new bottlecaps just for comedy value and because it made me giggle. The *majority* of my friends never quite got it when I'd throw a bottle cap down on a table and say 'here, go buy yourself something pretty' . The ones who did get it, to them, I became legend.

Well to be fair she shouldnt have made an ultimatum like that. It's not like you chose the game, you just didnt chose the person who was going to start trying to dominate your life in such manipulative ways.

Same.

@2 caps - my various boyfriends past and present know not to get between me and my games because they won't win. Good job I don't have kids.

@Lady Crimson - I watched the Book of Eli a couple of months back and all the way through I was thinking "hmm, this is Fallout." Credits rolled and who was the writer but one Gary Whitta - ex-games journalist and a former colleague of mine back when I was writing for magazines. Coincidence? I think not.

When I watch The Hills Have Eyes, I always picture Vulpes Inculta and his entourage walking through that desert, and getting attacked by the mutants (then there is a black out, and after a few seconds it shows their town burned and the mutants on crosses with him telling them about how they are bad people).

At a fancy dress at my school I came dressed as Benny. I came wearing a checkered suit, more hairgel than The Kings and the platinum chip from the collectors edition; all day I went around saying things like "Ring a Ding baby" and "You dig it?".
Though my friend came dressed as Vault Boy with his hair dyed blonde and a good looking Vault 101 jumpsuit.

Went to the store today. Reached into my pocket and took out a handful of change. Had a bunch of caps in with all the change.

If I play Fallout to much I'll dream about it. And i must say that [censored] gets wierd, haha. This one time there was one with deathclaws in party hats running around and dancing while drinking nuka-cola on the vegas strip. No [censored], I woke up and was like "wtf was that?"
