How to heightmap

Post » Mon Apr 26, 2010 12:08 am

OK the tutorials not being helpful ATM so im going to ask you guys, how do i do this without selling my soul to satan? I wanted to make a small hilly area, and I end up with a giant towering wall that goes so high the G.E.C.K. said "WTF DUDE?" Im attempting a mod and i dont think people enjoy endless flat land and thats not what I want in my mod.

Well, heightmaps are only usefull for creating MASSIVE worldspaces. Like the wasteland, or The Pitt and such. It automatically makes a 64x64 cell worldspace. So if you want anything smaller, you have to make it by hand. Which takes longer, but will be better overall. Since adding those 4096 cells would probably make your esm like 60mb instantly. Start with the default 25, and just work in one direction, eventually ending with your worldspace. Unless you DO want a massive one like 64x64 or bigger.

I do not believe there is a way to delete cells once they are created in an exterior worldspace. You must make another one, and start from there. Hopefully you have not done much to the current one. If anyone knows of a way to do this, and I am 99% sure there is not, let us know.

Hadnt done much trying to delete it because that giant wall i mentioned goes over the entire worldspace.

Did you remake it? Like I said, I don't think there is a way to except for remaking the worldspace.
