How to hide more markers?

Post » Sun Jun 14, 2015 4:49 pm

Basically, I'd like to know how to hide each marker type / all markers besides occlusion markers, and potentially room / portal markers as well.

I'm trying to work in the cities, and I need to be able to see and manipulate only the occlusion markers. I'd also like to still see room and portal markers if possible. The issue is that there are so many markers in these cities that cannot be hidden via the show / hide window in the cities that it is impossible to see anything. It's mostly tiggers, collision planes, bird flight paths, and so forth.

I have, of course, disabled all non occlusion makers in the show / hide window, it's not nearly enough. I've tried hiding them all individually, but there's so many that by the time I get halfway through the render window refreshes itself, presumably from stress, and all hiding progress is lost. I am willing to use ini settings or other non-menu methods if necessary.

If you have any questions, feel free to ask, please! Thanks for reading and for any help you can give!

To hide all markers at once, press m. Once all the markers have been hidden, just unhide the markers you want to manipulate. :)

Not sure what you mean, exactly. I've hidden all markers with 'm', but how do I unhide particular ones?

The 'view' panel has an 'occlusion planes' toggle, which is enabled. Toggling it with (and without) markers hidden doesn't seem to do anything.

The show / hide window shows markers as unchecked and all the options under markers greyed out. It also won't let me enable markers by clicking it, only instead re-selecting the render window and pressing 'm' to enable them again.

EDIT: Also tried selecting markers through the object window and then activating the render window and unhiding them with '1' but still to no avail.

It seems as if pressing 'm' doesn't just hide the markers, it completely disables the CK's ability to render them until you press 'm' or reactivate markers in the 'view' panel again. Selectng a marker, hiding markers with 'm', then pressing '1' repeatedly yields no results; the marker stays hidden.

as a workaroud, you can use cell window search to get most quite quickly.

search like "trig", "coll" (COLLision whatever), "mark"(er), "o*mar" (catches room and portal markers) etc...

Sorry I didn't make this clear; the issue not finding them, it's actually seeing them and manipulating them. There's so much going on on-sceen that anything beyond extremely minimal marker work is impossible. Crack open Solitude and you'll see what I mean. I need exactly what I said; to hide all other markers. Thanks though!

This seems like it should be a setting somewhere, just one I haven't found. Like the S/H window should have a 'more options' button.

I've had an idea, though, about hiding marker types manually using block selections. I'll take a look next chance I get. Doubt it'll work but worth a shot.

As I already said, you hide all the markers pressing m, then you unhide the ones you want to manipulate.

To unhide the markers, you must use the same key, m. :)
