How to ignore things behind walls?

Hi everyone,

I have an ability set up whereby the player can absorb energy from nearby soul gem trap pedestals.

One problem I have encountered though, is that sometimes this effect will trigger when a trap is nearby, but behind a wall. For instance, in some places a trap shouldn't be encountered until the very end of the dungeon, but it is actually right behind a wall at the dungeon's entrance, so the ability starts triggering.

How can I best limit this functionality to traps that are only "truly" nearby to the player?

If the above does not work, then perhaps the Area of Effect (or Trigger) can be tweaked.

Hmm, good idea mindboggles. That sounds like it might do the trick. Anyone have experience using LOS events? Does it fire whenever it's "on screen", or does the player have to actually be looking at it?
