How do Imperials siege?

Post » Sat Nov 13, 2010 11:19 pm

i was reading the book "disaster at ionith" when i realized that it didnt really specify how they were taking these cities from the akavir. Do they have trebuchet and ballista, or are they just using rams and latters or maybe both. i was really curious so i figured i'd bring the question here. Any help would be apprieciated. thanks

PS: it dosen't just need to be about the Akavir invasion. I want to know about all sieging in general. Thanks again.

There is no information about that I'm afraid.

Daggerfall had some siege equipment but I'm not sure.

They run towards the door and bashes it until it falls with their sword/warhammers. Then all they see is an empty space, at which point some poets start to take the concept of "closed cities" into reconsideration and come to this conclusion: "We have broken the game. [censored]."

That's what Tiber Septim used! Despite it's amazing power I STILL hate the Underking!

I'm guessing that they used their battlemages for sieges.

Logic would dictate that yes, they do use siege equipment especially since battlemages are limited in magicka not quite too practicle in my oppinion, even though it doesn't quite specify.

I imagine they would have trebuchets to hurl rocks and such at the walls and gates. It would also be usefull for hurling diseased animals over the wall. Maybe siege towers, battering rams, ect.

There was siege equipment everywhere in Daggerfall, even underground caverns.

Having a diverse attack force is always a good tactic. Any group of idiots can operate a catapult, magic takes some doing. Also if you look at the force and accuracy magic delivers in the games, you'd want mechanical equipment anyway in a siege.
