Meh... it is okay to kill time if not doing anything else, but I don't expect the game to be balanced around them.

If I had a list that ranked features in the order in which I cared about them, then not only would dueling be dead last but there would be a sizable gap in the list between dueling and the second-to-last feature so that I'd have room to fill in other features more important then dueling that I hadn't yet thought of.
are you kidding this is the highlight of my day watching a bunch of Tweens bunny hopping around trying to hit each other.
/sarcasm off
not important to me at all, energy and focus could be spent elsewhere imho.
[censored] important!! I'd practice pvp strategies with mates and guildies for hours on end, as i've done before in other titles.
For me VERY VERY VEEEEEEERYYYYY important. Is the only way to train fighting friends.
Its another option. Hard liners don't want anything Skyrim didn't have and thats just total BS. To those this isn't Skyrim so get over it. Options are a good thing, and you do NOT have to participate of you choose not to dual someone... So whats the issue if they take care of the game bugs first, and add this in later? None I say...
Are you in to deny people their opinions again?
State your preference & leave other peoples opinions alone.
I have no problem with dueling being in game, by all means put it in or dont put it in it has never affected me personally and it never will, and btw I am a hardcoe TES fan at least I think I am
I don't mind a bit of dueling when I feel like it. As other people stated, there has to be an option to auto-decline duels.
Even if i did not duel i think it would add some more activity to the world
This doesn`t have duels yet? Meh i thought they said it focuses on PvP with all the AVA and all that. They MUST add them... dueling, arena PvP and Open World PvP are all part of a game that even remotely focuses on PvP.
There is a huge MMO PvP community and if they want to attract them they need to add it.
They need as much as they can to keep the semi-hardcoe people from quitting after 1-2 months... as those are the ones doing the heavy lifting like setting up guilds/guiding people into raid content/PvP and so on, they basically do the hard work a casual player has no time to do.
My opinion anyway... i did not buy the game yet but i`m leaning to.
It isn't.
That stated, I would not vehemently and violently oppose the introduction of dueling, so long as the challeges were off by default.
I don't like to be bothered by other players when questing with my wife.
Dueling is something I would like, but it's not important enough for me to be upset if it is not in the game. I could live with it, I could live without it.
Yea! Dueling would make so much sense in Planetside 2!
Of course not and I haven't been. But I call a spade a spade and thats upsetting you. Sorry I did it again didn't I... Is that stated enough?
In the MMOs I've played in the past I've seen balancing classes for duels and small scale pvp go like a wrecking ball through the games, destroying builds of players PvE characters. That combined with attention [censored]'s brawling in the streets makes me hope it's never in. That being said, the game has looked great in the beta weekends and dueling won't make me cancel my order.
Its going to be a case of comparing up/down sides. Downside is harrasment in the form of spamming the duel request to players, altho this can be countered. Upside is you can test your skills for your self or to prove you can beat some one whos claiming otherwise. My brother had the plan to duel a bit for honing skills altho this could also be done in world pvp. Harder to 1v1 that way tho.
This is how i see it, and personaly think the downside isnt big enough to not implant it. If it makes a lot of people happy, why not?
More important it will cause a lot of creaming of say nerf dragonknight as they tend to win duels.
Ignoring that dragonknight is lower than average on assisted kill/ getting killed who again ignores that they tend to take tank like positions in PvP.
