How to install OOO 1.34 beta 5?

Post » Sun Oct 24, 2010 4:50 pm

Hey all, I've recently stated playing oblivion after a few years break and was in the process of downloading mods before I start again. I've been using exe files to do most of them so far, but the OOO 1.34 beta 5 mod is a compressed file. 7z I believe. Anyways I was just wondering where to put the files I get from decompressing the file? I assume in the data folder of oblivion? If so, do I have to sort them into the different folders in there? Thanks!

Take note of the Known Issues with 1.33 section in http://www.gamesas.com/index.php?/topic/1099204-relz-oscuros-oblivion-overhaul-133/ if you used the EXE installler for OOO 1.33.

Yes, basically you install 1.33 first. Then when you open the 1.35 beta 5 archive you'll notice meshes and textures folders and an esp/esm. Drag those to Oblivion/Data and allow overwrite.

I'm on windows 7, I thought those issues were only for vista?

On a certain layer of the outside, Win7 and Vista do not differ much. They both have the UAC, and with whatever improvements were made to that feature for Win7, it is still annoying...(but don't turn it off)

Edit: Oooh, the installer, well there is general issue with running 32-bit EXEs on 64-bit systems (if that is applicable for you at all) too. They all end .exe, so I could not tell you how to figure out if it were going to work properly or not, haha. At least, the OOO team flagged theirs in the "docs".
