How do I join the Vigilant of Stendarr Faction?

There has to be a way to join the Vigilant of Stendarr faction. Their base is right south from Dawnstar.

Did you go to their base and ask them?

You have to bring an offering of coffee and a sweet roll and then you get the dialog choice.

What CCNA meant to say is, "You can't."

There's only like 9 Daedra in the entire world of Skyrim anyway. It'd be a fairly short quest line, even compared to the other guilds/MQ of the game.

It couldn't have hurt them to let us join them, no different from Joining the Imperial Cult or the Dunmer Temple in Morrowind.
(You could Join both and both had proper Questlines)

I don't think you can join them. I wanted to so badly, I searched them out.. and talked to everyone.. and they all said the same thing.. in fact.. their base is creepy. Just sitting there with a buffet, banging on about daedra.. but no other conversation will they utter.

Now, my main char is a paladin archetype, big on good and evil. Death (again) to Undead, Death to Evil Daedra.. I'm their ideal brainwashed, does as he's told, knight in shining armour. It made me sad, and I was slightly suspicious they were zombies in their headquarters.. programmed to repeat the same line. Thats normal in the world.. but when all of them do it.. damn creepy.

EDIT: I think the thing is, theres a semi-random encounter where you are encouraged to join up. Maybe it was in the planning to have a quest associated with it, but didn't make the cut perhaps?

You guys didn't get offered the questline?

It wasn't long but the 4 quests were awesome.... especially the Daedric Cult in Markarth.

I like the unique Vigilant Armor too... makes me feel like a bad*ss

! and don't believe CCNA, no coffee or sweetroll required, just the head of a Scamp. If you can find it (only one in world) you are IN!

Considering there's no coffee in Skyrim, he's probably off looking for some that he will never find. :P

They could have been redacted for future DLC content. Kinda irksome that developers do that these days; especially with TES/Fallout3/NV where you can plainly see there is some future content to be had somewhere and was possibly going to be part of the base game, but they had to take it out so there would be SOMETHING to add DLC for. I liked it better when expansions came out of the blue and weren't planned in advanced; only made because of a title's success.
