How large is the Legion?

Post » Fri May 13, 2011 8:22 am

In terms of territory, how much does the Legion posses?

My predictions of the future include Legion raiding parties invading DC, but another member argues that they want the west and that they could have gone East but didn't out of choice.

If that is true, the Legion must believe the East is desolate or too dangerous to expand further in that direction.

Also how many states haven't been at least mentioned thus far?

It's a bit of a stretch to see the Legion conquer all the land between Arizona/New Mexico and DC... Especially since I knocked off Caesar and Lanius. ;)

Exactly. Expanding in any direction would be difficult.
I believe the Legion wants to go west is because 1. it's closer, and 2. there are enemies to be crushed there.

Legion Control Arizona, they are expanding into New Mexico, Nevada and maybe up into Utah and Colorado.

Exactly. In VB, they were supposed to have a couple camps in Colorado and Utah IIRC. I think the Legion Mongrels are supposed to be from Dogtown (Denver) as well.

All of Arizona, New Mexico, and southern Utah, and southern Colorado. If you make them retreat then no longer Western Arizona. If you make them win then add Southern Nevada.

Caesar says that they control all of Arizona, all of New Mexico, some of Utah and some of Colorado, likely the eastern part considering they control Denver. But getting them to expand all the way to the east is a big stretch. We know they clearly want to expand west, but we heard nothing of them expanding east during New Vegas, or even if they want to. And if they did, it would take a considerable amount of time, considering they'd run into any factions that have taken power in the South, an area we currently know nothing about.

I agree it would be a stretch to see them in the East (I don't want to see them in the east. Still I feel the need to point out, that the BoS and Enclave some how found there way to DC. BoS did it in two years and no real reason why. Anyways just putting that out there.

Going to DC wouldn't be much of a stretch, since they are based off of the Roman Empire, they would ALWAYS need to expand, until there was nothing left to conquer, they would first go west,to crush the NCR,then they would expand north into New Caanan and New Reno, then go south into Mexico and all,and when they finally got to going East, they would probably hit DC unprepaired for what they would find,a large Chapter of Brotherhood, along with remnants of the Enclave,Super Mutants galore, raiders, and mutants. They WOULD reach DC,i couldn't see them TAKING DC.

dont forget the Talon Company, I'd put them between Enclave and Super Mutants in level of strenth in the region, IE they would kick the legions ass.

Talon Company are Mercs as in "we do anything for money." If the legion come along and drop a ton of gold coins at their feet and said "you work for me now." They would say "Hail Caesar!"

True. But that isnt how the legion works, you are either part of the legion, or under its boot, the Talons are all about money and are obviously very loyal to the Company (Hence they yell "Talon Company!" when engaging an enemy.). The Legion would see them as Profligates, like they do the NCR. The Legion would think nothing of them and try to kill them like they would everyone else that had the power to resist. They would regret it later, but that's what they would do.

Talons arent sellouts, they would be EXTREMELY opposed to the Legion, because they are bad for business. The dialogue with the first mercs sent after you in Fallout 3 show that they care more about the benefits of being in the Company than short-term wealth, as you cant even try to talk or bribe your way out.
Talons are a lot of things, "evil" is debatable, but what isnt debatable is as follows: Loyal, Professional, Skilled, Organized, Disciplined, and Strong.

Legion has been know to use people. Just like the Great Khans. They will send people to talk with Talon Company. They will blow smoke up their butts. Maybe even hire them for missions. Gain their trust. Then they start hiring them to do missions which are nothing but legion traps.

It's not that they would learn to not like them when they came, they would hate them as soon as they heard about them. I'll put emphasis on this: The Legion is bad for business.
