How literally should the Anuad be interpreted?

I know the traditional view of the Anuad story is that Anu and Padomay were Order and Chaos, which eventually resulted in Nir. The story acts as if Anu, Nir, and Padomay are all actual people. We know Anu is, because he became the Amaranth. But what about Padomay? What about Nir? I get the impression that there was a lot more to Anu's story that we never saw because it wasn't relevant to the creation of the Aurbis.

We can't really assume that Anu was a real person/being/consciously-thinking-entity simply because he became the Amaranth. There is still debate about whether the Godhead above Anu, which presumably is in the same position Anu is in now, is a being or simply an idea, or something along those lines. People have asked MK about this, I think; sadly, I can't remember his answers.

I would argue that any Dreamer must have once been a consciously thinking entity. Otherwise, how would you separate unconsciousness from consciousness?
