How Long are you willing to wait?

Post » Sat Feb 19, 2011 12:20 pm

I figure problems arise even in the smallest of complications, but even though we're all sure the games going out on time, say a tester last minute finds a glitch so bad that after you finally make it out of jail, you almost always get killed by(lack of better momentary ideas)A DRAGON! 98.9% of the time leaveing that tiny percent where you actually make it out.

Would you rather wait and let them fix the problem or for them to make sure they get the game out just ASAP?!

Lol. I want Todd to deliver it in person! I really don't care, I could wait (until maybe the 12th) but I'm sure there won't we any game-breaking glitches (just the good, funny ones).

I find this poll to be silly. It's not going to be delayed. They wouldn't have announced the release date so early if they weren't sure they were going to have plenty of extra time to finish.

While I agree this thread is silly, I think that statements even sillier.

I'd love to see Todd delivering the game personally. Driving a milk truck just chucking them out the sides at the houses that had pre-ordered.

I'm not sure how that comment is sillier. Typically, game release dates aren't released until a few month before the game is supposed to be released. Usually this is in line of the game going gold or almost going gold. The reason for this is because they tend to leave it to that because they want to make sure that the game is already finished before they announce the release date because they want to make sure it will be finished. If BGS announced the release date of the game a year before the game is supposed to come out, that means they are extremely confident they have plenty of time to finish the rest of the game and do whatever polishing they need. Nothing silly about it, it's pretty obvious if your not completely brain dead.

Yeah I don't really care. I'd rather have delays than a massively bugged game that just annoys me. Bugs related to engine, code, content, and quests.

As long as I have to, there's plenty of other games or other stuff to do in the meantime.

I know this may be an extreme example, but: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Duke_Nukem_Forever :P

MMOs are more infamous for development delays, but I was just saying delays are pretty common in the gaming industry. When they announce their release date doesnt really mean anything because they cant possibly foresee what issues may possibly crop up a year down the road.

There is an 'other' option in the poll, a legit poll!? Good for you sir! Someone with some basic understanding of polls.

I will not buy the game until and unless a version is out that I will be happy with. That includes: no terrible bugs, no major level scaling, and decent quality game.

I don't care how long it takes :). Hell I might not be finished with Oblivion by the time 11.11.11 rolls around.

Until I hand out money for the game, Bethesda owes me nothing.

I am willing to wait if they find huge glitch in the game just before release, but it's going to be hard if I don't get the game 11.11.11. I remember that Oblivion was delayed, but don't remember why...

I'll most likely have to wait longer than release to play because I'll need a new computer to play it, and I probably won't be able to afford it for a while after release. Oh well, patience is a virtue. At least I'll see how it performs and patches should be out before I can play it also.

Peace, +Petrose

Bugs happen but if there is a game killer I'll wait for a patch before playing to much.

I hope they'll support the game better than Oblivion. They never released any patches that removed all the bugs in the quests for us console-players who didn't have access to the unofficial patches :(

On topic, I'll gladly wait another month if that'd make the game better. But 11-11-11 is such an awesome date!
