How long did you spend in the Sierra Madre?

Post » Thu Aug 25, 2011 1:04 am

I recently completed Dead Money again, and just wanted to know how long other people spent roaming the streets of the villa or spending chips in the casion. Personally, I take my time, sell some gold buy some money, or pick things up I had to leave before, ya know.
Just a small question because it seems like they've been quite a few topics on Lonesome Road and it's delay, something to take our minds off it for a while. :P

I left immediately after getting out of the casino. My eagle eye insured that I got everything of value. It's a curse, really...

I sometimes roam to find stuff, although it pisses me off to go back to the Mojave and realize I'd forgotten a code. This time around it was .308 e__e

Same here. On my 3rd playthrough I finally realized that I forgot to look for the Sierra Madre Snowglobe. Much less, that there was even a .308 code. The wiki really helped me out on that one.

I think on my first playthrough, the only things I had to go back and hunt were...

-Grognak the Barbarian
-Pugilism illustrated
-Holorifle mod (forget which, but it was on top of a roof
-Automatic rifle mod
-Bear trap mod

So it actually didn't take that long to hunt it all down. I'd explored every nook and cranny as I played it, knowing there was probably lifesaving loot in some of them, so I ended up finding just about everything. The ones I listed above are in such deceptionally-empty places which is why I missed them.

I think my favorite part had to be when I ran my ass off to try and get the Repair skill book when I had my collar on, only to realize when I activated the terminal near it that if I did NOT succeed in hacking it, my head was gonna explode. Needless to say that was my most carefully thought-out hack attempt ever. :P

I spent a good 5 hours in the villa after I left the casino, mostly because I really liked the Sierra Madre, but also to find the snow globe. During my other playthroughs I went back to the Mojave right after I left the casino because by my 3rd playthrough with dead money I was sick of the Sierra Madre (and the ghost people).

I stayed a while to try my hands in the casino but didn't have the patience to get the 'free chips' code :(

I've played Dead Money enough times to know where all the important loot is

Right now, I'm trying to win that Complementary Voucher! It's taking a while, but I'm only like 2000 chips away! :twirl:

Eh. All together for me it was about 2-3 days. I was having anxiety attacks at the time because of the constant video games, so I had to take a break. But I am fine now. I make sure I get everything too, lol.

I spent my birthday(in-game) in the Madre, its 12/29/83 so I spent a hell of a lot of time in the Madre butchering the ghosts that stock the Madre and pretty much left after using every single available resource lets just say the Madre will no longer be useful to anyone who enters her closing womb of destruction(get it? Madre=mother)

I spent probably 10 hours or so scouring the entire DLC to make sure that I didn't miss anything. Then I found out that the one thing I missed was the damn repair kit code. :cryvaultboy:

Luckily I did it on my first time through, my buddy was complaining that he didn't get the same bonus as me at the end. Until that point I didn't know that you had to break the bank to get the bonus.

15 hours. Maybe that's how I used the Holorifle to death and still walked out of the DLC with 300+ MFCs.
