I totally understand. I'm a Descent fan and have been waiting what.... 8 years for sequel? ;)

remember that a development cycle these days take 2 to 3 years (or a bit longer) depending on the game.

well, now that the lawsuit is about finished, I'd say a year or so; depending on how complete it is/was when things went to ... in a handbasket. :?

link pls?

I heard that Bethesda filed a copyright infringment against gamesas in 2009 in the District Courts but in December, 2009 the Courts denied Bethesda's claim and allowed gamesas to carry on with development, so that was only about a year and a half a go and I'm sure they are trucking along with content by now. :D Please don't be offended by anything shown above, I'm only stating my opinion, I mean no harm by any comments, replies and topic that I post in or about.

Not sure if its done and dusted as I also read that Bethesda was reshuffling lawyers for another legal bout. Though I think it does indicate that gamesas are in the clear. Image

The 'other' company tried a bunch of tricks but failed.

Now gamesas is going to trial by Jury in mid December. (Source Pacer legal system)

That will be the defining moment when it is decided that gamesas can retain their rights or not.

well, its going to be interesting for sure.

the 'other' company tried to stop gamesas from advertising for FOOL which in effect could have hindered gamesass ability to get funding.

Now from what i have read via pacer gamesas has the funding through various agreements with other companies for the funding. What i cant tell though is how its funded. most likely, and im guessing here, is that its milestone based such as gamesas completes X and they get Y amount of cash to continue development. Now the 'other' company is trying to say that gamesas never 'secured' funding by the set date.. thats up to a court to decide.

hopefully all of the the 'other' companies dirty tricks and interference come back to haunt them during the court case and they decide to settle the case w/ gamesas, where gamesas get damages and retains the rights to FOOL.

If it looks like gamesas might win i guess 'oblivion w/ guns' maker can roll the dice and see if their luck stat is high enough. If its not and gamesas wins the case and the counter suit , its possible that all of fallout could go back to gamesas.

This has been my thoughts too. I would love to see gamesas win the battle, and gain so much more out of it, like getting the entire IP back.
