How long have you been playing TES ?

Post » Mon Oct 17, 2011 6:14 pm

ARENA

What would be nice is if the TES players who have and are still playing but quit the boards due to Certain Circumstances™ all came back at once. Talk about a tectonic shift in the balance of power around here...... :flamethrower:

I've played since the beginning and love every single design decision for Skyrim

I have only been playing since Oblivion. I did try and play Morrowind, but the 360 was not backwards compatible for that game so I had to return it.

Oblivion here. I've played Morrowind. But I'm 17, Morrowind came out in 2003, I was in Grade 3, so I wouldn't have really understood it then. Plus, I was too busy playing Ratchet & Clank and with my Lego.

I knew about Morrowind, but Oblivion is what initially svcked me into TES. However, I ended up playing and preferring Morrowind. I've played a very little bit of Arena and Daggerfall, but I've had trouble getting into those. I played TES before Fallout.

Going backward in "game time" from Oblivion to Morrowind is easier than going backward all the way to Daggerfall and furthermore to Arena. These 2 last ones are really from a different computer era. Should I had discovered Daggerfall after Oblivion, I'm not even sure I would have played it more than 10 minutes. And yet I loved it when it was released.

Morrowind! The choice between which house to join, that you could own a estate, lead factions, and still be a bad ass in combat was so new and refreshing for me. The only mod i really remember ever using in morrowind was the one that removed those damned cliff racers. I haven't played any of the fallouts, even the first few that were isometric. I never really liked the setting, fantasy and high fantasy have always been what interested me most. And man, i can't imagine playing a TES game on a console after the amazing work all the modders did for oblivion.

started playing morrowind in 2003 an become obsessive as soon as i started playing. I remember when oblivion was first mentioned in game informer and reserved the CE as soon as possible. only bad thing about oblivion was that i had it before i even had a xbox 360. had to wait 2 months before i got one. an is the only game ive had an kept playing.

Morrowind on the original Xbox circa 2002.

Didn't have a capable PC at the time, and Xbox had a pretty lame selection of RPGs, so I found settled on TES. Best random find ever.

I first played morrowind when I was in 3rd grade. I got it for my birthday after I saw Toonami review it on cartoonnetwork. :D

def be a shift. when i made my first account on here people seemed much wiser and more into the lore and story line. i think all the old school TES gamers, dare i say "grew out of it", i miss those days something fierce.

Does the Daggerfall demo count? Never played the full version until it went free.

I still believe the Skyrim community will stabilize a few months after release, once Skyrim is no longer the "big game" and everyone has moved on to Mass Effect 3.

Been playing since the Demo of Daggerfall. Will play TES until it's stopped being made.

Which demo?

I played the Betony demo for hours and hours, seems like the dungeon demo was more played by most though.

Played the Fallout demo too, but not until about a year later.

Since the dawn of time, on 18th of October 2004. That's when I first played Morrowind. Then I went and played Daggerfall after that. Went backwards, but I wanted to try it. I was gonna do Arena, but Oblivion came out and messed that up by occupying my time for about two years, on and off. So yeah. Boink.

ME3, my various Shephard are waiting for it to continue their adventures. But for now Skyrim has oblitared any interest for any other game :tes:

AI think you're right, after the hype phase, and the period where every casual players have finished the game, mostly TES fan, people creating/seeking mods, and late new players should be poking around the Skyrim section.

I've been TES fan since 2002 (about month or two after Morrowind came out).
When Tribunal and Bloodmoon came out, they insured that TES remains to be my favorite video game series of all time together with Diablo.
When I want SP adventure, I play TES.
When I want MP adventure, I play Diablo.
Simple! ^_^

I'm just bummed because I can't play Daggerfall (my laptop is a real ass when it comes to that game).
Still, I'll wait until DaggerXL comes out and then I'll play it (something tells me that it's going to be the best game in the series by far). ^_^
