How long will a match last?

Post » Fri Nov 05, 2010 6:14 pm

So i havent seen anything on the matchs time. i like game with HUGE matchs. will there be a time limit and if there is how long will it be? or does the maatch end when all the objectives are completed. or (and this is the one i think will be true) will one team have to complete all the objectives while the other team trys to keep them from completing it. and they win when the time is up. but again when will the time "be up"

Attacking team wins if they finish all ~4 objectives. Defending team wins if they defend for ~6-8 minutes per objective. When an objective is completed, the timer is completely reset.

I honestly don't have a factual answer, but games in W:ET could take up to 15 or 20 mins sometimes. If you had a really good team that same game might only go 4 min as well.

I've seen a time limit in many videos, so I think it's safe to assume there will be a timer for the offense to complete the objectives.

Unless your playing stopwatch mode, then no time limit.

I anticipate it to perhaps play out quite similarly to Rush in BC2, which can last anywhere from 10 minutes to an hour. Depends on who comes, who goes, and how often the tides of battle turn.

Oh you of little faith. In fact we aren't.

Regular mode is what Ram said. Each objective must be completed in X about of time say 5-10 minutes. Each top you complete an objective,

Stopwatch mode which is what I was referring to is seperate gamemode. Where one side attacks until they win then they switch with the defenders, who then attack.

Who every wins quickest wins.

Check the compendium if you think I am wrong Rukio.

I hate it when that happens. You ever have a game where the enemy team has a lot of reviving going on and they manage to take every set of MCOMs with ~2 people left. Those take forever. I wonder how Brink is going to work since they really haven't discussed how many lives your team has or how long you have to complete an objective.

I doubt that.

A match certainly won't go on forever, if the defending side is dominant.

I played Brink at Eurogamer and had a match on Container City. The match lasted around 20 mins, so matches are quite long, but it can depend as the match finishes once the objectives are completed.

So it's long and varied if you can stay because of the objectives and classes; but if you can't stay you can just drop out and let a bot take your place. Not bad at all. Better than Halo and CoD combined.

Same here. W:ET had a stopwatch time limit and if the attacking team failed to complete all objectives within this limit, the defending team would get a time bonus +2 min to complete the same objectives. iirc.

Edit: Ugh, I really need to get updated on certain stuff. Guess it's back to the Holy Bible
