How long you will be playing VANILLA Skyrim?

Post » Sat Dec 10, 2011 4:06 pm

I'm going to play for years to come, i think it already has so much to do, not to even mention the upcoming DLC :)

So, what's your estimate and why?

Oh, and in this, vanilla means everything "official" (DLC/Expansions/Main Game) Bethesda puts out, just to be clear :P

I never cared about player created content I'm happy with the stuff Bethesda puts out for the most part. Broken steel for Fallout 3 svcked it chanted the ending of the game and made it all anti climatic.

Until the CS is available.

I need that damn respawn timer down to 3 days before anything.

Or maybe before the CS, if some really good mods come rolling out. But so far nothing has grabbed my attention. I've looked at some graphics mods to make Skyrim less gray, but they just seem to make everything (including snow) more green.

Yeah, but this was about the vanilla Skyrim, mainly for console gamers, since we don't have mod support :)

For year or two, I'm not used to mods so well, but maybe eventually.

Vanilla? 0 Days.

I'm left handed so I needed to mod the game to even play the game since they locked out the numpad. Then I went about tweaking the ini to get best looks/performance since it's optimized for consoles.

After those tweaks though I immediately started collecting various hi-def texture packs two small mods that have already been released.

So yeah, vanilla lasted exactly 10 minutes for me until I found out I couldn't bind the numpad. After that point vanilla was out the door.

Hm, just discovered my 3rd main city and entered high hrotgar so i guess at least after i finished the main quest, discovered all main cities and finished the college quest, about 1-2 month and then until the first polished mods appear (no kiddie "uber-ohko-weapon"-mods)

Some of the mods out there are really nice, but yeah i agree with you. I think it has ton of content already.

Offtopic: I played Fallout 3 GOTY Edition on my PS3 for about 3 hours, oh my it was so broken....never got to Broken Steel, still have my original Fallout 3 though (and GOTY, i might get back at it sometime, maybe) :)

Mods are a "revelation" for anyone who uses them. Some of my friends were like "i don't want to play the game with mods" and when i got to persuade them to do it, they were like "omg what was i missing all this time".
They refine and fix the game in the way you want and having more content doesn't hurt, does it?

I'll play vanilla until CK comes out... after that well why wouldn't i want to download free content (mods) to the game to make it better?

Some people don't use mods for whatever reason i guess they think they're buggy and bad like modders aren't skilled enough to make mods... These people don't know what they're missing...

Yep, i'm sure that if i had a good enough rig to run it, i would get a ton of mods :D Got my HDD full of Morrowind mods, but yeah, i feel you.

I played for an entire day, until 11/12, before loading a much-needed slower leveling mod. I couldn't get my head around being like level five or six after a few hours play.

For a long time, I have it for PS3 only so far. The only reason I bought it for the PS3 was because my computer wasn't up to par. I'll get Skyrim for the PC if there's any really impressive mods. So far there isn't.

As i stated earlier, there are SO MANY awesome mods for games (read: TES), but yeah, some people are kinda sceptical :)

As little as possible. Just waiting for the patch before loading up on a bunch of mods. Also waiting for the correct mods other than the easy alterations (textures).

Yeah, but this was about the vanilla Skyrim, mainly for console gamers, since we don't have mod support

Neither your title or original post clarify this.
