How to make "camera shake" effect?

Post » Tue May 28, 2013 1:02 pm

I saw this video not long ago: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Pw7twCxHFDo&list=UUUrb810b5JiFPLnYEuoWinA&index=5

In it the modder has created an effect that shakes the player's view whenever the creature stomps its feet. How did he/she do that? If I had to guess it would have to be that the effect is a 3d modeling manipulation of like the camera or something? Or is what I'm say just flat out wrong? Anyway any input would be greatly appreciated thanks!

I don't see any shake when the creature stomps it's feet. I just see a hyper-active mouse usage.

The movements to me did not look like sporadic mouse movements. I think if it were it would be a bit more jerky.

But even if it is and this video is a dud I would still like to know how a modder could make this effect. Hmm... in retrospect I think the same kind of effect is be acheived when the player gets injured or is near an explosion unless I'm remembering wrong. The player's view is "bobbed" around a bit. I'll look into that and see what I can learn.
