How Do I Make Enemies NOT FLEE!

Post » Fri May 27, 2011 6:07 pm

I want to make enemies keep fighting me, and not escaping me.

I hate necromancers and conjurers, always run away from we when I get near them instead of attacki me. I hate trying to force them to a corner where they cant escape.

So can you help me? Maybe you know of a mod that make them not run away or some ini config?

In Miscellaneous -> Combat Styles you will see the list of all npc battle AI. Starting from NPCBanditMage you can edit the Combat Styles. I think changing the Ranged Standoff Distance will work. Reduce it from 750 to 80. Do this for the following:

NPCBanditMage
NPCConjurer
NPCDremoraMage
NPCMarauderMage
NPCNecromancer
NPCVampireMage

Hope that works!

Or you can toss a burden spell at them...

Silence spells work well too.

Yup, if they can't cast spells, they'll try to melee you. Our point is that you don't need to edit any settings... the game provides all the tools you need to stifle that behavior. Strategery, yo :)

if it is based on keeping a healthy distance and attacking ranged (or with summons) Nenina's suggestions would work good. However if it is actual fleeing the thing to change to disable it is to set the actor's AIData Confidence SubRecord higher - like 80-100.

Dispel is also fun on Conjurers, as they'll keep on trying to conjure while standing still. A sword in OOO has unlimited Dispel on strike - very useful on Conjurers. Almost feels a bit cheatish.

You could try to become friends, share a meal, chat a bit, maybe hit a pub together ...

I hate the ruddy mages that keep fleeing and casting. Happens with archers, but only until I get close enough, then they pull out a warhammer and turn my head to paste. With mages, you have to wait for them to run out of Magicka, cripple/burden them, or make sure they can't cast anymore.

At least with Mages they're usually pretty weak so you can go thorough an entire dungeon one shot stealth killing them.

Could try Vows and Covenants or http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=22392... I think you might be able to disable NPC fleeing with that, and just have them surrender instead.

MMM's wounding plugin might work too since enemies at low health will likely be injured to the point of KO, or extremely slow movements.
