Another nice feature of CB is that considers the whole range of the image, so with a bit of tweaking, it is much more forgiving in respects to the input. This also makes it easier to create a normal map from a photograph, without each and every shift in color causing havoc, making it also more 'newbie friendly'
For me, the strongest feature is the ease at which you can mix several normal maps together for a final composition. (ex: baked highpoly normal map + painted surface details)
