The GOTY has all the content that's available for PS3. There's additional content available for PC and XBox, but it was never ported to the PS3.

Edit: To elaborate a bit... The Knights of the Nine (which is included in GOTY) is the only really significant Downloadable addition. The other DLC were cheap minor additions; fun but not essential to the Oblivion experience. Shivering Isles (the Expansion to Oblivion) is also included in GOTY.

The Shivering isles and the Knights of the nine are both included in the GOTY edition, these are the 2 main DLC's (Shivering Isles being the biggest).

The Shivering isles and the Knights of the nine are both included in the GOTY edition, these are the 2 main DLC's (Shivering Isles being the biggest). There are also some minor DLC'S that add sort of "houses" to the the game or some other small feature. All in all technically there are 10 official DLC'S (including the Shivering Isles and Knights of the nine) Check here If you would like to see what some of the additional content contains, http://www.uesp.net/wiki/Oblivion:Official_Plug-ins

That extra content is not available for PS3, which the original poster asked about.

Really?! I was sure it was! So is it not available at all or just not in the GOTY edition? This isn't really fair to PS3 users is it?

It's not available on the PS3 at all. Only KotN and SI. That's it, nothing more. Ever. Bethesda really doesn't like PS3 players, for some reason.

I would call them minor, for the most part. They sold for a dollar or two each. It's stuff like horse armor, fancy places for the player-character to live, etc. Some people think highly of "Mehrunes' Razor," which adds a big dungeon.

Are you aware that the only DLC links on that page are for XBOX? The OP in this thread asked about PS3, and Beth closed down the PC DLC store a while ago.

It was some issues who stopped them from doing DLC for PS3, lots of discussions if it was legal or technical, perhaps both, Sony wanted to much money and it was technical problems so it was dropped.

I was just going to start a post about this and thought lets not be a noob and read the forum first and came across this, it is a shame the extra content will never make it to ps3 but that is life I suppose, I have played game of the year on on both consoles never pc unfortunatly, but if was to get an xbox again is the extra content worth it, or is that down to personal opinion?

Thanks in advance

Everything concerning art and entertainment is down to personal opinion. ;)

My own opinion is that Shivering Isles and Knights of the Nine are worth it. They are both substantive additions to the game. The other DLC, in my opinion, are not worth it.

FWIW you can get a rough idea of how good the official add-ons are by seeing how many PC users (who can also use user-made mods) bother with them. My experience is that most PC users have Shivering Isles, a substantial proportion have KotN, but the others are generally in the "it came on the same disk, so I installed it" category. Many have replaced the "official" add-ons with similar user-made ones, or uninstalled them because they conflict with a mod.

I personally have SI but not KotN, and don't feel the lack of the official content, but I do run (and create) user mods. I considered KotN, but decided it removed things I preferred to keep.

Hi everyone,

Well, Here's MY deal:

I have Oblivion GOTY without the DLC. I just bought Knights of the Nine disc w/the 7 DLC in it (The missing DLC is the fighters home...forgot its' name)

My question is: How do I get the DLC to work with the GOTY? Copy & paste the DLC folders into the root directory of the game?

Thanks,
stefnuts

First, install the game itself. ;) It's recommended when running Windows 7 that you install the game to a folder other than Program Files (I install Oblivion to C:\Bethesda Softworks). After that, put your Knights of the Nine disc into your drive tray. Windows should automatically open a folder with several .exe files inside, one .exe file for each DLC.

Double-click on an .exe file. When you do, you'll see a User Account Control Box. This box will ask you "Do you want to allow the following program from an unknown publisher to make changes to this computer?" Click 'Yes.' Now a License Agreement box will open. Click on the button next to "I accept the terms of the licence agreement" and then click 'Next.' Click on the 'Install' button. When it has finsihed installing, click on the 'Finish' button. Repeat these steps for each of the DLC you would like to install.

You should be ready to go. But to double-check, click on the OblivionLauncher.exe and then click on 'Data Files.' All of the DLC you just installed should have an X next to their names. That means you are ready to play. If any of them do not have an X next to their name, click on each box to put an X there. And play!

As already stated there are a fair few DLCs but unless you're on pc or xbox you won't really benefit. They aren't necessary to the game either, they just add some new places and you just get a quest to make these places your 'safehouses' really. They probably have better benefit to those of a lower level/wealth as they become a free safehouse (as opposed to buying your own house) and the wizard's tower has an alchemist's dream herb garden. I purchased them when i was pretty high, had Rosethorn hall and maxed out my alchemy level.

Mehrunes' Razor is probably the largest in the small dlc catagory because it adds a huge dungeon, but you're best only sticking with shivering isles and kotn (in my opinion). Shivering isles is my favourite of the dlc because it's a whole new area with it's own main quest line as well as side quests, dungeons, exploration stuff etc. You get a whole new island/world to explore.

Hi everyone,

I noticed and "interesting" remark about the DLC "altering" Oblivion in ways they (the poster)
did not want.

How could the DLC take away from Oblivion?

I just bought KOTN w/6 DLC on it (minus the Fighters stronghold...or whatever it's called.)

I see no game "alteration" at all.

Please explain.
Thanks

I'm assuming you're referring to ghastley's comment about Knights of the Nine? If so, the only thing that KotN removes (that I'm aware of) is that the Anvil Chapel is ruined. This is part of the story.

If you want to experience the still-functioning Anvil Chapel you can always enable KotN later in your game. You don't have to start with it.

What I was referring to was the trainers that get killed - not just in Anvil but also in Cheydinhal. That can make it difficult to get Master training, as there's no recommendation available. Adding KotN later is a viable option.

Ah, okay. I've never used trainers in Oblivion so I didn't even realize KotN removed them. Thanks.

Hi everyone,

I really am bummed that the KOTN disc I ordered doesn't have the Battlehorn or Battleborn Castle in it.

Is there ANY way of getting this DLC? Is it modded somewhere?

BTW, IF I buy the EB games downloadable game Oblivion deluxe GOTY, can I write the game onto disc?

Sorry, but it's been a while since I copied a game of mine onto a disc because the original disc got scratched.

Thank You for any & all help folks,
stefnuts

I don't understand sir.

I have Oblivion GOTY regular. Can't I get master training anyway? Also, Is it better for Anvil Chapel to NOT be installed, if so why?

Thanks and sorry for being tedious!
