How many battles you have had with dragons inside the city w

Post » Fri Dec 16, 2011 3:41 am

111 hours in, and not a single dragon attack inside of a walled city. Riverwood has gotten hit, and I took on out just outside the Riften gates, but nothing inside walled cities. Now I feel like I'm missing out.

You're only missing out on lost merchants and other NPCs.

If you want to avoid dragons in the cities, FT to a nearby location and walk the rest of the way.

Zero. One flew around Falkreath once, but it decided not to do anything.

I don't count villages like Dawnstar as INSIDE. So I had two, one in Solitude and one in Riften.

One in Falkreath and one in the College of Winterhold.

After a few spells, J'zargo and Arniel started punching it. (At least J'zargo had claws  ) Afterwards Drevis Neloren commented on the attack.

Quite a few, I can't remember an exact number but I would say at least five or six, probably more. Allthough I have put in an absurd 284 hours in Skyrim...so yeah.

Just last night a Blood Dragon tried it's luck attacking the College of Winterhold. I think it lasted as long as ten seconds or so.

I had one attack me on the docks at Riften and it went into the city, and died on the temple steps. Still there...

I have never had an attack inside one of the main/walled cities. I have had a few attacks (2 or 3) within a village's perimeter. I have had multiple attacks after exiting out a city's gate however, it was my primary method of gathering souls for awhile....=)

Oh, that's a good point. On my main character, I didn't get to Hrothgar until the mid 20's, didn't hit Solitude until the high 30's/low 40's, and then did a concerted "ok, let's actually do the MQ" push to do the Esbern-through-end part in the low 50's. So I spent most of my game time with the MQ only partially begun, and then pushed kind of quickly through the end half or third.

Never seen two dragons attacking at once.

I guess if you push the MQ up to near the end, and leave it there, Dragons are more active?

Only inside Whiterun. Killed one there, and the skeleton stayed FOREVER.

Blow it over the walls with a bolt spell, if your no mage you can use a staff, but lol they flyyy!

I am level 49 myself, I have encountered multiple dragons in Dawnstar (which doesn't have walls) and a couple ones outside the Whiterun city walls. I did never get one inside one of the large cities though.

185 hours in, level 38, and I've never had a dragon attack inside the borders of any village or city. The closest I've had to that is a few dragons attacking the farms across the roads near Whiterun.

I used to ignore my rules about fast travel to some cities because they never seemed to get a dragon attack in or near, but no city is safe.

I've been attacked in Windhelm once, inside the city walls...quite fun cause the Dragon kept flying and landing on rooftops with people running/screaming everywhere...
Was the only time a Dragon attacked me inside a walled city, I've been attacked multiple times in Dawnstar and Morthal...first Elder Dragon was in Dragon Bridge and it killed A LOT of people there lol...VERRRY fun

Played for over 200 hours, never seen a dragon inside a closed city cell.
Have fought about 3 at the College of Winterhold's courtyard area, one right outside Riften gates, another just outside Dawnstar.

I encountered the two Dragons in Morhtal before even setting foot in Ivarstead, so it seems to be random.

The dragon battle randomness and in fact, the random occurrence of dragon's full stop is interesting. I have two characters right now, both over 70 hours played, my first character, who i haven't played in a while, would encounter dragons frequently, and in fact, had many more random encounters overall. I'd encounter dragons, wolves and sabercats all at once regularly. I've even seen dragons fighting each other then team up against me. It made for a lot of fun as i really love the random events in game. Once i came across a dragon that had angered a giant... but i digress. Despite the greater frequency of random encounters, not once had i encountered a dragon in a town or city. Once or twice just outside, but never inside.

In stark contrast, my second character, has very few random dragon encounters, infuriatingly so. I barely ever see any and half of the dragons i see do not engage in battle. I run everywhere with this character and i've started fast traveling more often in a seemingly vain bid to mess with the system as it were. I have an abundance of shouts and not enough souls to spend whereas on my first character this was much the reverse. Ironically however, i have encountered dragons inside city walls on two occasions on this play through and i enjoyed those encounters thoroughly.
