How many caps do you have?

Post » Fri Sep 10, 2010 12:15 am

I was just woundering how many caps everyone had and how you got them.

I have over 36,000 without gambling or even going into the strip yet, just selling armour and guns.

Almost 5000 caps. I figure that's alright but there is still plenty of stuff to buy out of my price range. Gambling also does me little favors what with having a low luck skill and all.

Mostly I've been around 10.000 but I did a weapon run on Black Mountain and am currently at 22.000.
Will do another weapon run in a couple of hours.
Will probably raise it to 30.000 at that point.

Up around 16k caps just by selling/scavening. I could be 25-30 if I got rid of some of the guns that I "could use but currently am not." Hehe. Also haven't set foot on the strip yet. Am in Freeside, though so pretty close! Trying to stave off going there until I have to!

I have not stepped into the actual strip yet. I had roughly 38k when I made it to the Freeside area. Very shortly after I had 438. I won't spoil anything but let's just say there's some really expensive things to buy.

I never stole a single thing to get all my caps btw. I have been leveling my Bartering up somewhat. It's at ~70 at level 18. I pick up everything that's worth more than 5 caps/ pound. Also, my repair is very high so when I sell armor and weapons I get a lot for them.

Also, Caravan. The NPCs svck at it. Badly. Take their caps.

For a little while I was struggling, but I just got Jury Rigging and I'm up to 36k easy.

I have around 20,000 caps. I raided the Van Graff store in Freeside yesterday and looted 10,000 caps worth of stuff. I highly recommend doing it.

The most I had was something like 20,000 before I fully repaired my Tesla Cannon Prototype and other gear. Easy come, easy go.

I'm playing a good character, but man I was tempted when I walked in that place...You can bet my next character will not hesitate.

The guards are difficult to kill. I took my best companion in with me (Boone) and laid down a bunch of mines before initiating combat.

I have a little over 50K, with another 50K in saved up junk I got in my stash.
I have at least 500-1,000 Rounds for any weapon.

Considering you can get 14,000 with the sale of a particular 7 items you should bear some of the higher-end with due course.

I also raided Van Graff's store and Gun Runners HQ, 10-15k caps each for selling the stuff. Best thing, no bad karma! (atleast i don't recall, after killing all guards it was OK to take the loot in there, if i remember correctly) So now i am sitting on top of 46k, with enough ammo and good guns to last me the end of my playing on this char.

32,126 exactly.

I have 10 luck, and i'm playing as a greedy, do anything for a cap type of playthrough, but NOT evil.

I win a lot on blackjack.. honestly i only lose every so often, so doing 100+ cap bets are easy $$.

In addition to my playthrough type though, its hard.. to do the main story, which im still working at, because i've put limits on the things i can do as of, armour and guns. I only use one handed fire arms, snipers, and a combat knife everything else is off limits. I don't where any over protecting armour.. i have the sheriffs uniform i found in prim, and a matching green beret, and authority glasses :disguise:
I find it fun though :) !

The Caravan game took me a long time to figure out how to play because I didn't realize you had to move the cards up and down to turn them from Red to Green.

Once I did figure it out, however, I have only lost one game and won all the rest. This makes it way too easy to get caps, so I stopped playing Caravan.

I also have 10 luck, but it doesn't help Caravan at all. Haven't made it to the strip yet. Luck really doesn't seem to help with finding loot, either. Mainly just lots and lots of criticals.

Ehhhh, on a good day, around 10k caps. But I tend to buy from the Gun Runners, so I tend to drain funds relatively quickly.
