I don't mind people using controllers. Especially when they connect there PC to the TV. The controller / TV is one of a few advantages most people see in consoles. So if people start using a PC this way there is yet one more reason to go for a PC in stead of a Console.

Only think left is making the installation on a PC just as easy as on the console. Not so very hard to do wasn’t it for all the not working DRM that makes installing games on a PC harder.

Cost is a reason you also hear a lot, but looking at the total life-time cost a PC is not more expensive. When you buy a console it works like buying a phone with subscription. You pay the console when you buy games.

I use both, but mainly Xbox 360 controller at the moment because I'm stuck with a wireless mouse that aims worse than any controller. A good gaming mouse are awesome for precision but i have never really liked using a keyboard for movement. Although i can play well with a keyboard, the controller feels much more comfortable and controls the player movement better IMO. I also find that controller buttons are quite user friendly. Aiming is the only thing that lets the controller down and i can see why an experienced K+M player would stay away from one. With my controller I still usually finish in the top three in MP.

looking to buy the Logitech G700 mouse, any of you guys had good/bad experiences with this product?

Yeah, my main gaming PC is in my Theater room connected to large TV. I use wireless XBOX controllers.

Even when gaming at 1080p, there are clear benefits over a console alternative. For a start, I can play all my PC games at 1080p natively, so the picture is sharper than an upscaled console game. Also, 30 frames per second and significant framerate dips are very common on my console games. If I play the same games on PC, then I can usually get a minimum of 60 frames with no framerate dips. The next obvious benefit would be the drastic reduction of jaggies on PC graphics due to proper anti-aliasing on PC.

I regard consoles only as a cheap alternative, you want graphics buy a pc, you want an outdated platform with dvd playing capabilityes and no upgrades whatsoever then get a console.. but seriosusly mario is outdated :P

Not really so cheap alternative.

Buy like... 20 games and you'll get both priced equally.
PC games are usually notably cheaper than console one (no bribe for MS or Sony), so with each game you buy - you save money! Don't forget about it.

And don't forget about thousands of better or worse free games... and much higher amount of game categories you can play - good strategy game, great MMOs, browserRPGs, etc. etc. etc. Everything beyond scope of console.

PS3 or XBOX isn't cheaper in any way than first-time investment than a console. But easily in half a year you'll get price difference returned.

bit of a silly question really.
I use keyboard and mouse for first person shooters.
i use a steering wheel for racing/car games (anyone really going to use one for shooting someone?)
joypad for some arcade games.

each controller has its uses

ppl stop boasting of your 24-40 inch plasma TVs. I have 19'' 1280x1024 usual tft monitor, but it doesn't make me want less to play C2 with gamepad

stfu and GTFO of the PC forum if ur using controller, YOU, GTFO

made my day. xD

No, seriously, you can play with what you want, I don't care, and billions of other people also don't care.
It's just funny, that many people like to play with controllers, cuz imho they are useless without aim assist.

Now, back to topic ^^':

I'm using K+M.
Never tried to play a shooter with a controller, but for games like DMC a controller is better.

Btw: you could make a poll out of this topic.

This pretty much sums up this topic. Why in any right mind would you use two joysticks without some sort of "sticky-aim?" You are automatically putting yourself in an unfavorable position. It's a total disadvantage.

Without any difficulty C2 is just yet another average shooter

That's your misguided opinion. There's no one that's competitive that would consider this game average. It has all the necessary elements at play and then some. All completely balanced. I guarantee you won't do well with a controller k/d wise. Maybe in a rookie server, not in a server with good players. Prove me wrong.

Unless you're talking about singleplayer. I don't give a **** about debating that.

I haven't used a gamepad in Crysis 2 because it's design hasn't called for it.

I tried the logitech rumblepad for fps before. It is designed like the playstation controller. It does the job.... But, IMO it doesn't do it well for any fps. I use it for racing type games and it works great for those.

This mouse will kick your controller's butt anyday. Seriously you wanna use a controller? There's a console for a reason. See how the vote was voted? Mouse and Keyboard will ALWAYS win!
