How many days will you take off when Skyrim launches

Post » Sat May 28, 2011 2:48 pm

I dont understand your will it be legit options, you should have had 'other'. I will take 2 days off from work and yes it will be legit, I will request them off ahead of time. 3 days total, as I will request the days off after my normal day off.

I think this is covered by "official holiday", as your normal day off doesn't count towards this poll

Unless you are planning to mix and match fake illness and holiday (which might rouse a little suspicion...)

It comes out on a Friday, and I'm hoping for a midnight release. If I take get the game the second it comes out, then take Friday off, I will have three days to play the game. I can easily go for three days without sleep, but I will want around four hours of sleep directly before school starts. Factoring in the time it will take me to drive back from Best Buy, that should allow for over 65 hours of gaming before returning to school on Monday. That should give me adequate time to wet my appetite for TES.

Yes, I am really planning on staying up for three days straight to play a game. Not the first time I have done it, and it won't be the last.

I won't be taking any days off for Skyrim, from work, college or otherwise. No point buying games if you haven't got the money to pay for them.

nope I'm just gonna have some late night sessions when my gf is in bed, although I will probably pull a good few all-dayers, probably without meaning to

You should rather have some late-night sessions with your gf in bed :P

Seriosuly, I can play Skyrim anytime, what's the rush with 11/11/11. I'll get it eventually, patience is my middle name.

Don't get many of those with a part-time job, and my college schedule doesn't allow for a full-time job.

Still, 11/11/11 falls on a Friday, so I should be able to get enough of a Skyrim fix to sate me over the weekend.

Its not a holiday, I just don't won't to work that day, I don't need a reason as long as I request it at least 2 weeks in advance.

I've got a week scheduled and I have more than enough to warrant a week for a good game. Good job and benefits. That said Beth better deliver on 11-11-11 cuz rescheduling is just a pain :tops:

I'm part time - but the downside is that I can't do any overtime to boost my wage. That's the good thing about having a game like this to play - on holidays I normally end up going out and amusing myself by spending money. This way I can have fun without over spending (allowing for birthday presents for my bf, of course).

Ok to clariy the four types of day off:

  • Weekend/not on shift/national holiday - don't include at all
  • Paid holiday (you request it, you get the day off, you still get paid for that day) - include as official holiday
  • Unpaid holiday (you request it, you get the day off, but no pay) - include as official holiday
  • Fake illness (you just don't turn up on the day, you may or may not get paid) - include as fake illness

Does this help?

The timing for the launch is tough for me, as I usually take my vacations right at the end of the year. None the less, I'll be taking off at least a week for Skyrim. :)

I'll have class, and I won't neglect my studies for a game.

I'll just neglect my social life and spend every free moment in Skyrim. :teehee:

When Oblivion came out I took 3 days off to enjoy the game at my leisure.

At the end of the 3 days I thought to myself "I should have taken more".

I'm toying with the idea of a week... that sounds a little crazy even to me though...

What do you think?

too many? :3

Well, seeing as I'll be in my first semester of Senior year in college...There is no way I'd be taking days off. At best, I'll get the game and play it on Saturday/Sunday and on the afternoons when I get home from school and if I don't have work I need to do.

In fact, now that I think about it...I probably shouldn't get Skyrim until the Christmas holidays (which will likely begin in the beginning of December for my university). At least once I'm done with my Finals, I can march to Gamestop, get the game, and spend the whole holiday playing it.

It'll be the first semester of my senior year of college too, only I won't have much work to do because I got all of my major and general curriculum requirements out of the way early on. Unless I get motivated and finally start studying for my lsat I'll probably be skipping a lot of classes and playing this game all day and night for at least 4 days.

lol. I thought I would be the only one who was going to say none. I don't plan on buying SK until its been out for a while, by that time I may even have a good idea if it will win GOTY, if it looks like it will I will just wait till that comes out. I am tired of rebuying the game when goty comes out (I've done so 3 times now) plus I have been a little disapointed by gamesas lately. (FO3 being the exception)
