How many days will you take off when Skyrim launches

Post » Sat May 28, 2011 5:34 pm

Well, seeing as I'll be in my first semester of Senior year in college...There is no way I'd be taking days off. At best, I'll get the game and play it on Saturday/Sunday and on the afternoons when I get home from school and if I don't have work I need to do.

In fact, now that I think about it...I probably shouldn't get Skyrim until the Christmas holidays (which will likely begin in the beginning of December for my university). At least once I'm done with my Finals, I can march to Gamestop, get the game, and spend the whole holiday playing it.

I hope I have this much willpower or my grades will go to [censored].

Two days is the most i'd be willing to take off. As sad as it sounds Bethesda games mean alot to me as a gamer. Nothing like loading in a new bethesda game and watching countless hours go by :P

I won't have to take any days off! I start a new job in a week, my days will be split right in the middle giving me a whole FIVE HOURS in the middle of the day to wander the wastes (and cities) of Skyrim. I have been in my current job for 26 years and now it is time to do something I will enjoy - namely coming home at 9 am to load up The Game :celebration:

I am thinking of taking a week off. A new ES game only happens a few times every decade, so the moment is HUGE.

I remember the Making of Fallout DVD-

"Our goal is to have productivity decline. We want sick days to go up. We want people staying up until 5am because they had no idea what time it is and they just had to complete that next quest."
- Pete Hines.

Sounds good to me!!

However, it would very bad to have the game full of bugs and have to wait for a patch during such holidays.......

I voted none, but I'm not sure if I'll be working at the same job or if I'll even have a job then. So I dunno, but it comes out just before the weekend, and my current job I get the weekends off.

I will probably play it non-stop until I die of hunger, dehydration, and whatever bodily functions that will unfunction. :brokencomputer:

Haha just kidding, but I will play it for a long time.

by the time the game comes out, I will probably have a good job, and I won't want to mess that up. Video games no matter how awesome and skyrimish they may be will not take over my life. Work and school are more important.

I am taking a week of leave for Skyrim. I usually take a few days off for every game I'm really excited for. These are my vacations.

None ofc,i have bills to pay and an entire weekend, followed by playing after work, is plenty for me.

And paid time off isnt an option throughout november-december for me.

After seeing the trailer I think a week is now the minimum I will take :D

Good point about release date drift though. It would be painful to sit at home for a week (probably watching these forums like a hawk) with no game, then be at work with no holiday left when the game is released!

11.11.11, though. It's too portentous to drift, surely?

I'll bet there's some employers sitting there reading this thinking "Well, looks like it's gonna be just me and that receptionist with the lazy eye again" *sigh*.

I've planned my Winter vacation at Skyrim and it's gonna be freezing cold with warnings of avalanches and grizzly Dragons from above.
I already planned a travel route with trips to High Hrothgar and Winterhold but probably without annoying Tourist photographers from Japan.

As soon as preorder is available in my Country i will book my ticket to Skyrim.

I've seen people do this other games. I don't see the point really. I want the game to last me a while, rather than blow it all in a week of hardcoe non-stop playing.

Yeah, I wont be able to take too many days off. I will be studying for my CCNA and CCNP certifications, around then. Though I may lose a lot of sleep over this game. I want it to last. Oblivion lasted a few thousand hours for me, I hope this will be the same.

A solid week of playing this game will barely scratch the surface for me. It will last the full five years (until TES VI) even if I win the lottery and "go career" on it :D

I'll be taking a weeks vacation for release. Since it releases on a Friday (assuming launch date isn't delayed) I'll be taking the following week off to enjoy it.
