How many days will you take off when Skyrim launches

Post » Sat May 28, 2011 7:09 pm

When Oblivion came out I took 3 days off to enjoy the game at my leisure.

At the end of the 3 days I thought to myself "I should have taken more".

I'm toying with the idea of a week... that sounds a little crazy even to me though...

What do you think?

I've booked a week off. Might sound daft but it's my bfs birthday too, plus I get 6 weeks off a year and I don't have enough money to go anywhere, so it's always just random weeks or lots of long weekends off whenever I fancy.

I voted "none are you insane?" As much as I love TES, I don't see why one would take time off of work/school for a game...

I might tell everyone I'm going on vacation, stock up on confectioneries and lock myself away for a week.

I love being self-employed, you wouldn't believe how much.

nope I'm just gonna have some late night sessions when my gf is in bed, although I will probably pull a good few all-dayers, probably without meaning to

By Oct-Nov, I'll begin to make some plans to skip both work & familiar holidays for a week or two, and see if I can stay alone at home.

That would be my first time and first year doing that, but Crysis 2 + Mass Effect 3 + Skyrim, all installed at the same time in a brand new PC is certainly something that doesn't happen every year...

The Navy doesn't let us just take random days off (well, not usually), so I'll just wait for time off. I'll be pretty [censored] busy when Skyrim is actually released, though, so it'll be rough trying to find time to play it.

I'm only taking two days off. I should take more, but I barely scrounge up enough rent every month to even keep my internet, so I can't take anymore.

Side Note: Go to college kids.

I'm plotting two weeks, yes plotting. When I played Oblivion I was attending high school, now that I'm no longer in school at this point I just have to deal with real time eater -- work. I'll work my [censored] off til I can signifigantly earn enough cash than what I would have earned in that two-week period. I work at Domino's and it's football season around that time, so I will hopefully be able to work something out for Skyrim's release.

Speaking of Domino's, I think I'll go make a stuffed crust extra large pizza with the Skyrim TES logo on it. It shall be called the "Skyrim Pizza"!...heh how original.

A whole week. Instead of my usual 4 weeks off during Summer I will only take out 3 and save one week for Skyrim release week. I'll play all day and night. :celebration:

I love ES but it is not worth getting fired and kicked out of school over.

Hopefully I'll be able to take some time off the week it's released, at the very least I will book the day off work.

I can set my own work hours, as long as work is getting done.
4 days straight should be manageable before I need to put more work time in.

It's a Friday. Why would I take a day off?

Edit: unless you work shifts. Then you need to be thinking about this.

Even though I am super exited for this game, I don't feel like shelling out 60 bucks as soon as it comes out so I'm just gonna wait for my parents to buy it for me for Christmas... I'm not gonna have a life for the next week after that though

Wouldn't it be a bummer if you take 2 weeks off only to find out the game will be delayed to 12-12-11....

I usually max out my amount of absences permitted at school, so I'm gonna wait until Skyrim comes out then I'll be really "sick".

I dont understand your will it be legit options, you should have had 'other'. I will take 2 days off from work(can't afford more) and yes it will be legit, I will request them off ahead of time. 3 days total, as I will request the days off after my normal day off.

Next week I requested a day off and I am going to start playing FNV, oh yea! Plus my normal day off makes 2 days. 2 days of awesomeness AAA open world rpg awesomeness.

I just realized I read the thread wrong, I won't be taking the days off when it launches, I will wait a few weeks, till the first patch and for modding to take root.

Well, seeing as I'll be in my first semester of Senior year in college...There is no way I'd be taking days off. At best, I'll get the game and play it on Saturday/Sunday and on the afternoons when I get home from school and if I don't have work I need to do.

In fact, now that I think about it...I probably shouldn't get Skyrim until the Christmas holidays (which will likely begin in the beginning of December for my university). At least once I'm done with my Finals, I can march to Gamestop, get the game, and spend the whole holiday playing it.

I think I can take up about 8 free days which would grant me 2 weeks off. Not planning on taking a holiday this year so I'd just as well spend it on Skyrim :)
