I imagine there'll be so many that I'll have to continue the series in the next life. :P

One for each remaining "tower" (don't remember how many that are, though) and one where you kill Lorkhan.

But of course they will make more if there is a demand.

He is referring to http://www.imperial-library.info/content/tower Here is another link about http://www.imperial-library.info/content/facts-and-opinions-nu-hatta-intercept

Dagoth Ur was a Tower, White-Gold tower is a Tower (in both a literal and metaphorical sense) and so on.

I'd say they will keep on making Elder Scrolls so long as people buy them and they want to make them. Though, all good things must come to an end. And I'd rather see Elder Scrolls end loved on a highnote like Cowboy Bebop or Ghost in the Shell, than end because it was driven into the ground. Not that I think Bethesda would do that, I'm just saying, if they feel they are creatively drained when it comes to Elder Scrolls I will accept them stopping or at least shelving the series for a while.

Towers are...complicated. White Gold, Adamantium [Direnni], High Hrothgar, The Crystal tower. The perform a function whilst empowered by their stone, such as White Gold tower doing something for the Aleyids. And Crystal tower being the Aldmer's attempt at destabilizing Mundus (I think).

I am fully expecting to be ninja'd or corrected by someone more knowledgeable.
^Well I was right about that at least.

On that note I must ask thus. . .

I notice they state in the trailer (I've watched it like 50 times on my PS3) that "the Elder Scrolls told of their return". So this is all part of a prophecy from the Elder Scrolls. So I ask, how many other prophecies are there? Are there other prophecies?

Please excuse my ignorance of the lore. I know little of it because I just came in with Oblivion 2 years ago (and I regret ever trading that game in :banghead: ).

Yes, even though there are better sources. But I cant find them now.

It was also hinted in infernal city, there are towers in Tamriel that support the world from collapsing into Oblivion. A theory says that each TES game destroys or breaks one of these towers, until Lorkhan will return.

The Elder Scrolls are the games themselves the prophecies are not set in stone until the actions are completed [the game is played] and the Hero [you] defines what is written on the scroll. Supposedly the actions of the previous games, Dagoth Ur, Dagon ect... have all been leading to the events of Skyrim.

I believe the Elder Scrolls end after Skyrim, i am not talking about the games, but isn't Alduin returning the last Elder Scroll?

They could perhaps tell of a new set of scrolls written up from the gods. Nirn was not suppose to survive Alduin, but obviously it will so they will then need new guides.

They could even make it so that there is undiscovered land, think about it there is one large continent thats maybe the size of Russia, Nirns either a small planet or there is more to the planet, areas undiscovered.

he Elder Scrolls are Aedric Prophecies of unknown origin and quantity...basically they can be as many as the game can be sold....perhaps you should try to break into the imperial palace and count them though

Supposed to, but the Leaper King [Dagon] and the Greedy Man [magnus?] have been sticking little bits on every Kalpa, perhaps this one will be a little too big to eat.

I have no idea, I made a guess. It's been a while since I read up on Kalpa cycles. Give me a minute and I'll look it up.

As long as technology keeps developing, there'll be TES games. There's so much more to do in this genre, particularly in the AI department - I don't think people will ever lose interest in these games.

After a closer look, the second link is quite good.

So the towers are (my remarks in italic):
Mundus was given a second Tower at this time, Red Mountain with the Heart of the World [Heart of Lorkhan](Morrowind, TES3).

The witnesses to these events [Aldmer] built more towers: White-Gold [The White-Gold Tower] (Cyrodil, TES4), Crystal-like-Law [The Crystal Tower](Summerset Iles), Orichalc [?], Green-Sap [Falinesti?](Valenwood), Walk-Brass [Anumidium](Daggerfall, TES2), Snow Throat [Throat of the World](Skyrim, TES5), et cetera. Oblivion first troubled the Mundus at this point.

Someone earlier said something about each tower being empowered by a stone, what are these?

For Numidium its probably the Mantella.
For the Red Mountain it was the heart of Lorkhan.
For the White-Gold tower it was the Amulet of Kings.
For the Throat of the World... we will see.
