how many 'Far Harbors' can we expect?

Post » Fri Feb 19, 2016 4:16 am

and do you think Far Harbor will be actually worth the 25$?

as good as Dragonborn were... it was more of a ~10$ addon compared to the main Skyrim game, wasn't it?

I kind of feel like the announced DLC's aren't worth the 40$ tag, with two of them being only 'cosmetic'.

I mean 40$ are 2/3rd of the main game which had a cost of 60$?... and the main game was huuuge ^^

can we really expect 2/3rd of the main game with Far Harbor?

It just seems a bit overpriced for content that was created within half a year, compared to the time it took to finish the main game :/

And that's coming from someone who absolutely loves Fallout 4 and will buy the Season Pass no matter what, just to have a bit more of Fallout :D

I just feel like two 'story-DLC's aren't enough to justify the 30$ tag, that the Season Pass has.

And with the price increase there isn't really a chance to wait out, to see if there will be at least 3 'real' DLCs

opinions? :D

The season pass is 24 dollars (Greenman), so it's definitely worth all the money. Honestly, it's like a dinner night out.

The DLC does't need to be one third of the full game to be worth one third of its price, no matter how pretty it sounded for the customers. Developers calculate the price with more factors than just the content compared to base game.

It probably won't be 2/3 of the size of the main game. And when considering how long the main game took to make, compared to the DLC, remember they'll likely use a lot of the same assets (buildings, vegetation, etc). A DLC built on an existing game can't be considered in the same timescale as a game built from nothing.

Money wise, they'll charge whatever they think they can get for it. Personally, I won't be getting the season pass, because the two other 'mini' DLCs are less than unappealing to me, but I'll definitely pick up this Far Harbor one. I have faith that they'll put a decent amount of work into it to make it worth the money.

I'm just curious. Why not? The season pass is the same price as the Far Harbor right now on PC.

You know, I haven't had a dinner night out in years. Not since I was last overseas.

I even entered that insufferable Elder Scrolls Online sweepstakes hoping to win the f*cking money because I'm bored out of my mind.

I'm really in the mood for pizza though.

Hmmmm...

It is hard to say if it is worth the money at this time since we only have a tiny bit of information on the DLC's

I found that all the DLC's for Skyrim was worth the money especially when it was bundled with the main game.

I'm just wondering if I'll end up paying 30$ for two story-DLCs that hardly have 20 hours of content usually ^^

I think the main game deserved the (60$+30$) price even by itself, which is why I'll get the Season Pass.

But it seems to be a step in the wrong direction compared to F3 and FNV?

It's really hard to judge if Automatron and the Wasteland Workshop are seen as real DLC's by Bethesda, or if we'll actually get more 'real' extra content, like we did in the other two Fallout games :(

They're obviously just experimenting with pricing models, as lots of people were pretty annoyed over the whole Hearthfire DLC in Skyrim. So, I imagine they're trying to price individual "packages" of DLC according to a more appropriate value.

I remember this. They said they were going to do 3 expansions for Skyrim rather than 5 smaller DLCs like they did for Fallout 3. Hearthfire was a massive disappointment given those expectations. Can't say I remember Dawnguard being any bigger than some of the heftier Fallout 3 DLCs either. These DLCs are really bare bones given their history so it makes sense they decided to do more last minute. I wouldn't even consider getting the season pass if they didn't because I could get all the real content for $5 less.

Automatron look like Dawnguard, for the look of it, having a quest and villian involve and all.

The Wasteland Workshop look like a Haerthfire DLC. (minus the settlement craft that is in the core game ofcurse =P)

I think they heading on the right direction for me. Right now the 3 DLC they announce look like the full DLC we get on Skyrim. And they say this is just the first wave of DLC. So probabbly after the "harbor" DLC they will announce the second wave of DLC:

I actually didn't know that Automatron had quests.

Thought it'd just spawn robot parts within the world and let you create own robots from them ^^

Having an interesting questline within all that would make it far more appealing to me.

Did they specify it a bit more?

$25 DLC does not have to have half content of original FO4.

However, it still needs to be DAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAMN GOOD.

30 bucks for all dlc they put out.

Half the price of the game.

F3 had 5 dlc at $10 a pop. for me it was $50 well spent.

It seems to me we are getting the same amount or more for 3/5 the price of F3 dlc.

No brainer for me.

Yes. There will be a "quest line" regarding the robots. A return Villain is attacking the commonwealth. "The Mechanist" from fallout 3 is back. Or It could be referring to a guest villain from F04 as a part of another quest.

It's a no brainer to buy the season pass for all the DLC's. I know that I will need them all because eventually all the mods that I want to use will require it. $90 for a game that I will be playing for years (because of mods) is a bargain!

I hope there will be one other 'Far Harbor' before BGS moves on. Personally, I don't want them to linger too long on FO4. I would like to experience TES VI before I get too old and, you know, moved on.

The Mechanist is a character from pre-war comics. Mechanist in FO3 imitated one of them.

The current imitator, however, seems to imitate the more villainous version that you can "meet" in Silver Shroud radio dramas.

It could be the same person, but I doubt it. This Mechanist seems to be more than just some engineer with convenient access to few robots.

Purely because I want to read reviews before I purchase anything. I said I would definitely pick up Far Harbor, I should probably rephrase that and say 'I will definitely pick it up unless it turns out to be terrible'. Also, I'd want to see what each of the DLCs are first. I've liked all the ones in F3 and NV, and the Automation and Wasteland Workshop ones are the first that I've ever though 'meh, I wish the hadn't of...' (with the possible exception of Zeta). I can see why they've gone in that direction, and I'm sure a lot of people are going to love it, but I personally wont. Until they announce the next DLCs, I'll hold off any kind of purchase, just in case they're of a similar vein.

FO4 has a lot of potential to me, and at the moment I'm holding off until the GECK is released before I do a second playthrough. I found the first time through to be good but in need of a lot of work to reach its full potential. I don't want to buy a DLC if it too is in need of a lot of work.

i now realized why you shouldn't buy season passes ... it encourages companies to do DLC like : automatron / expanded workshop

Far Harbor story -> u go to the island , talk to a villager tells u there is a fight between some synths and atom kids , u go there and wipe out one of the factions ... end ... pay up fool

Good. If it means that we get many more DLC that fulfill player's demands, then I'll gladly buy the Season Pass. Maybe I could buy one for a friend too!

Mario, go rescue the princess, princess not here, go to another castle and rescue the princess, end. Everything can be summarized that way if you don't talk about the details, the sidequests, the guns, the armors, the NPC, etc being aded.

Small DLCs will come out regardless of season passes are there or not. Plus, there are a lot of trust with these season passes. If the DLC svcks then they would ruin customers' trust in buying it again the next time, so they lose money in the long run.
