So, how many of us have a PS3?

Post » Sun Aug 08, 2010 10:25 pm

I'd never buy a PS3, not because I'm an xbox fan boy or anything, but because I hate the controllers with a passion.

I've heard that before, but i don't understand it. It's the next step in evolution of the second best game controller ever, http://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:Snes_control.jpg. Though i'm inclined to think that http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nintendo_GameCube_controller is even better than Dualshock, so that would make it the third best :hehe:

The last console I purchased was the NES when I was in junior high.

That http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:NES-controller.jpg i still have nightmares about, though :ahhh: Ouch, my poor thumbs!

I have two PS3's and two Xbox 360's.

Why must you have doubles of them may I ask? :spotted owl:

I have a ps3. I prefer the controls, UI, and games to that of the Xbox 360 controls, UI, and games.

I originally had one of the larger PS3s, but I experienced the YLOD and got a slim, afterwards. Playstation consoles have, since the first, been my gaming platform of choice, so I can most definitely say I will be buying a PS4, if it comes out, as well. I'm disappointed in the lack of a Kingdom Hearts III, though. Where the hell is that game?

Had a 20GB launch console, now a 160GB Slim. I like it. Sony typically does right by their consoles and they're my second favorite console manufacturer next to Nintendo. That being said, between its somewhat rough start and an industry-wide push for multiplatform releases, the system fell quite short of its aspirations. Then again, as Terash Cas said, none of the home consoles have really thrilled me this generation.

It's still a ways off. The Kingdom Hearts team is wrapping up Final Fantasy Versus XIII in the next year or so, and all we know so far is that they've started looking into hardware for KHIII (whether they want to do it on PlayStation 3 or next generation consoles). For what it's worth, Kingdom Hearts: Birth by Sleep is currently the closest thing we've got to Kingdom Hearts III, and Kingdom Hearts: Dream Drop Distance for the Nintendo 3DS is the latest title chronologically (with the trailer showing bits from Kingdom Hearts II's ending), and its also supposed to be connected to Kingdom Hearts III in some way.

I have one, alas, I need a new one, she's an old 40GB, she's essentially an 'ol reliable' of PS3's. So I have to pick and choose what I install on it, and she's had extensive use. Honestly, I'd say I got ALOT of good use out of my PS3. I've played my brother in laws Xbox 360, but I didnt like the controller (to bulky for my hands) and the UI was confusing for me. That's not to say I dislike it, but I greatly prefer my PS3. Then again, I've never had an issue with Sony products.

I have a non-working one, don't think that counts.

Don't have an Xbox 360 either, but I would rather have a PS3 for more games different from the PC. I prefer a gaming PC over a console version(Xbox), and to have consoles for certain types of games.

Agreed, the removal of the PS2 BC was a really poor choice IMO.

Psshaw! That's why you gotta have a PS2 as well! I know you don't want to dish out $100 on a new slim PS2 but hey, I like playing my PS2 games on the system it was made for, same with Xbox...sadly mine broke so it doesn't matter anymore. But my old fat PS2 still works..after 6 years. At least, the last time I tried it, it did..pretty amazing if you ask me.

Anyways I picked one up a few weeks ago..I was debating it forever..not wanting to spend a lot of money for just a few games..but I figured eh hell with it and bought a GT 5 160gb bundle. I have Killzone 2, both Uncharted's and Demon's Souls and pretty happy I decided to purchase it..those games are good fun. Especially Demon's Souls and Uncharted. I'm gonna eventually get LBP 2 as well. And maybe some of the others too, I don't know yet though. But since I have a 360, I'm keeping PS3 for exclusives only.

I'm a PS fan so of coruse I have it. Actually the PSone was given to me as by a friend when I ws 6 (?) as soon as the PS2 came out, a few months later I got PS2 (and a couple years later the slim version) and bought the PS3 60gb as soon as it came out (Oblivion was my 3rd game :) ) too bad it had YLOD so I bought the slim christmas 09. So yeah so far I'm pretty happy with the PS3...and it is my blu ray player :)

I don't follow brand loyalty. I went NES -> Genesis -> PSX -> PS2 -> 360. What's important are the games, not who manufactures the console.

I'd rather play PS2 games on a PS3 because of HD resolution, wireless controllers, and more memory space. I already have a PS2.

$300 for a 160GB Slim and ~$50 for a used PS2 Slim. Still $150 cheaper than what I paid for my original BC PS3 at launch.

Having it all on PS3 was convenient, but I don't think most folks that still care would have a hard time justifying picking up a PS2. Still so many more quality games than on all three current systems combined.

I don't have a TV that works properly with my PS2 any more. Running it in a VM on the PS3 got around that until now.

PS2 with a component cable can put out high-resolution image too i beleive, not full HD, of course. I have a cable that fits both PS 2 and 3, but haven't tried it with PS2 yet

The only thing I have to play games on is an HDMI monitor. I haven't played my PS2 in years for this reason.
