I'd rather play PS2 games on a PS3 because of HD resolution, wireless controllers, and more memory space. I already have a PS2.

I would think the games don't look much different in normal resolution, games like FF7-9 at least. 10 and 12 looked great before HD resolution even was a common thing. That's mainly what I use my PS2 to play. I also have 2 memory cards for it, so more than enough space for all the games I have. I guess if you have 200+ games it's a problem though. I'm also not that far from the TV, so a wired controller works just fine. But I could understand if you don't play that close or just don't like wires.

I just thought it had more to do with what resolution they put the game in..for quality. I see games that say "this plays in 720, this plays in 1080" etc, didn't think it would make a difference on the PS2 games.

Depending on the TV, there's a rather huge difference. Many modern TVs are relatively poor at reading anologue signals and upscale them correctly. If the PS3 upscale the graphics and send it over HDMI, it will look noticeably better. This especially applies to PS1 games as they run in such a low resolution, but it applies to PS2 games too.

Try playing a PS1 game on a PS1/PS2 and then the same game on a PS3.

The Uncharted games are absolute must-haves. Please tell me you at least have those....

Mainly the fact I can use an HDMI cable, rather than any actual improvement. I have two memory cards too and it's not nearly enough space.... I constantly have to delete data.

Technically it is my little brother's, but he decided to go to a far away university and left it at home with me since I just go to a commuter college. So I use it every now and then in his absence. I own the 360 though and we also have a Wii, both of which I use much more often the PS3. I just don't find too many of the games appealing.

We own all the consoles of this generation and all the last generation consoles as well. Currently, my Gamecube is getting a lot of attention. Fire Emblem rocks. :P

I just got one with Bayonetta and BlazBlue. Still don't have enough time to devote to learning BlazBlue's impenetrable interface, but Bayonetta is great fun. Buttonmashey, finger exhausting fun. I plan on getting the ICO/SoC bundle when it comes in in march. Also have my eye solidly set on http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fSj98d2pRtE.

I also have a Wii...or rather my parents have a Wii. Used to be mine but when I joined the Navy I just left it with them. Now my mom plays Wii Fit on it every once in a while. I plan on buying a new black or red Wii when I get my own place, because I still like some of my games for it like Muramasa and Fragile. Actually I'll probably just shell out when the new Zelda comes out on it.

Also have a DS Lite. I love it. I can sit down to play Rune Factory 3 and then for some reason I look up and it's been 5 hours. Adore Summon Night Swordcraft Story too.

Plan on getting a 3DS when it comes out, based essentially on how much I like the DS Lite. Maybe. By then I might be too swamped with work.

It's not?

GameFaqs says Q2 2011 for europe, and TBA for USA. Is there more specific (or perhaps "correct" :D) information?

It's not?! Oh bugger Amazon changed the date again didn't they. :sadvaultboy:

I'd totally get Muramasa on PSN though, if it was the full game.

I have one, but it's only used for a blu ray player. I mostly game on my 360, with a few PC games here and there.

I held off playing my friends PS2 copy of 'God of War' because I wanted 'GoW Collection' for the PS3. Well, I got it, and man was it worth it. (I got a new copy, still factory wrapped for a 'used' price tag. $22.50 rather than $29.99, for 2 games, awesome!) Not saying the PS2 version is crap, but damn, what a difference. The video cut scenes are all still PS2 quality though and you can really notice when it goes from in game HD play to an SD video. It looks kinda, mildly washed out and not nearly as crisp and clear. (Jaggies!!!! I hate jaggies!)

Psshaw! That's why you gotta have a PS2 as well!

??? I am puzzled by this. Didn't Sony lamblast Microsoft when the 360 came out and not for making it backwards compatible? Sony mocked Microsoft saying how great the PS2 was backwards compatible. Funny how Sony has done the same thing now. The difference is now that Microsoft has made most Xbox games backwards compatible on the 360. Not perfectly, but good enough. Looks like Sony can't do it on their own platfrom. Well they did with the 60 or was it 80gb PS3 but not for the rest. Sad really.

So I guess the PS3 doesn't do EVERTYTHING like it claims to be. I wonder can I sue Sony now that the PS3 doesn't play PS2 games?

The only reason I have a PS3 is becauese of Blueray. It is my Blueray player. Back then it was cheaper to get a PS3, but now, it's cheaper to buy a Blueray player now than a PS3. I am glad I got the PS3. Its a nice little system. Not as great as they claim to be, but good enough.

I like the PS3 a lot, I have the first gen system. So far I've never had a single problem with it.

@davor, My PS3 is backwards compatible, don't know about the slims though.

They removed the hardware for backwards compatibility on the slim.<_< I guess they are not ready to lose the sales on PS2s yet. It is still selling quite well considering it's age and big brother. Good for their pockets, not so much ours.

I don't get it. What is "knew" suppose to me? Is it spelt wrong on purpose?

What is ri k? This makes no sense to me at all.

Yeah, but they are called YLOD instead :P Much less common than RROD, though, and generally only happens with the original 60GB launch model and to some extent the 40GB model. The newer Slim models doesn't suffer from YLOD. But then again, the slim 360 doesn't really suffer from RROD either.
