How many house, castle, town and city mods would be enough?

Wondered how many structure mods like homes, ruins and new cities mods you would install. Not complaining about the number of them created. It's about how many you would install and why or why not. Maybe too many new cities or massive amount of house mods would break with the character of Skyrim? I'm open to it btw.

Take an extreme example, say if a mod came out to fill the whole area from Whiterun to Riverwood with very attractive houses, castles and other structures so that there's little or no open space between the two towns. Except for an occasional small park. Would that appeal to anyone? Assuming we had machines to handle the additions.

The game provides, what, 8 houses? More I think if you add in the TG, MG and others that provide housing. So that is plenty right there.

As for house mods, I try a bunch of them, but really only need one. Reason, I can't remember where I put my stuff if I have more than 1 or 2 houses that I use. I uninstall all the other ones I don't use. Keeps the conflicts down.

Now, I have in the past gotten an elaborate house for the main one. Then I get some thing nice and cozy as a "vacation" house. I don't keep a lot of swag there, because it is a place to go to get away from it all.
