There are 6 maps known. Recent previews state that there will be 8 maps total, which will be plenty to start. (SD maps rock!)

lol i know 2 maps would be crazy. thats why i was asking. anyways 8 maps still feels a little short. i hope they release more maps in dlc. but i also hope they dont try to rip us off like black ops. maybe sell for like $10 or if they go up to $15 then they just have to include more gun attachments etc.

Still hope they just port the most popular community made content from PC to consoles for a minor charge. Problem solved for all platforms. Besides, most of the SD maps are of the same replay value as the most played map ever: de_dust2

"In addition to the sixteen core levels, there are four missions called "What If," two for each side, that portray a little twist on the various storylines. Rather than telling the story from a faction perspective, the "What If" missions are "not really canon," and let players see their factions be a little more extreme with their actions. That leaves open the possibility for more story-based missions in DLC, and while Ham said that putting in a new class would be a little much for DLC, "new abilities, new maps, new storytelling; those would be the things we'd love to see when and if DLC comes along.""

Aw, Nail beat me to it. Yes, there appears to be a grand total of 10 maps, and therefore 20 levels. Seems like a good amount to me. :disguise:

I fail to see why 10 maps result in 20 levels. Are those 10 extra levels not the same map, just played from the other side? -.-
I'm confused right now.

Nail, with 20 maps, do you mean 20 unique maps like in ET:QW/W:ET?

I REALLY hope that they dont add gun attatchments out with dlc because some people dont bother paying extra for dlc when they have just payed £40 for a game. And these people who have bought the downloadable content will have an advantage over those who dont buy dlc.

Yeah, I doubled it since you would play each map from two sides. Unless...unless they actually meant that there are 16 unique campaign maps and 4 unique side maps. Which would result in 20 different maps, playable from both sides for a grand total of 40 different "levels." Seems excessive. They probably just counted each map twice, which would mean that there are 10 maps, 8 regular and 2 bonus.

Attachments dont really give a unfair advantage since it also lowers a stat/stats while increasing another/giving a new effect.

And i dont think they will sell new guns or attachments because they spent forever balancing the game

there are 8 distinct maps and 2 "what if" levels but each level plays differently for each faction giving 20 levels to play

yes, Wraith. I am sorry I just dont have the time of day to spend hours on the internet doing research on video games or spend my time copy pasting other peoples comments that glorify how great I am...at video games.

Honestly, if you are not going to post something helpful why post at all?

yeah i see your point. But it is inevitable that will come out with dlc if the game sells good. its easy money. they way i see it is if they r going t charge us extra money then we might as well get out moneys worth.

Also, press ctrl + F. It's actually faster using the compendium than asking questions on the forum.

just saw a post of a guy going on saying his fav is cod4 yelling about the 8 maps yeah 8 may be a little small but first of all this is part one not part 4 where they'd have tons more budget because it's already so successful second cod maps are generally pretty tight and mostly just alot of karma bull people have yelled about Assassins Creed maps/graphics but they need to realize they have to put footholds that look right on both the map and your character same thing goes for this all the events and time going into it making it where a light can't just walk across the tops to the other side and glitch testing takes alot out of people it's hard gruesome work and we should appreciate them and congratulate them for they're hard work instead of yelling for more and better.

I saw that too. What people don't seem to know is that Brink maps are biiiiiiiiiiiig and have three dimensions unlike CoD.

Actually Brink maps are quite small, it's just you have to fight for every inch, there are no treks, just combat

but yes they are 3 dimensional, so you have more territory to exploit
