How many new members since Skyrim?

Post » Tue Sep 27, 2011 8:06 am

I was wondering how many people have signed up since Skyrim was announced, and how that compares to the number that signed up for Oblivion/FO/FO:NV?

By the time Skyrim comes out, the Skyrim General Discussion will have over 30,000 topics and over 1,000,000 replies.

There is alot of excitement for Skyrim and its looks to be BGS best selling game of all time. Info is starting to come out fast and heavy thanks to all the playable demos we have had at a few conventions recently and the work of some gansta forum members. We are finally in the home stretch here my friends. 45 days and counting. It wont be long before they go "GOLD" to start burning those discs for shipping. Expect marketing to start ratcheting up to a crescendo. We should see a new trailer(s) in the coming weeks. And the reviews should start coming in 4-5 weeks or so.

Ive seen alot of new members in the last couple of months. This is starting to get really exciting again. Heck Im afraid to read several topics based on the title alone in an attempt to avoid spoilers.

I can almost taste the dragons blood now... :flamethrower:

Well, I looked it up and we have about 56,600 new members(as of sept 26 2011) since Dec 11, 2010.(day skyrim was announced)

That it out of roughly 214,060 total members.

Over 25%... Interesting.

Well if someone can find me the announce date for previous games, I can crunch the numbers and compare them to Skyrim.

edit: spelling and grammar :shakehead:

You know, they should count the amount of new members of the week leading up to release.

Edit: Yay! I've finally made diviner after three+ years!

I don't know, but apparently we have MANY new users. And yes, this will probably be their most successful game if they fix the glitches.

I've been part of these forums since Oblivion, but i must of had about 3 accounts that have long since been forgotten before this one.
I made this one when i was going through Oblivion again and was looking for some mods, but now i'm sorta trapped in the Skyrim forums.

All you had to do was change your password. Well, granted we have had to change our password twice this year cause of our friendly neighbourhood hackers. But you didnt need a new acct.

I'm new. I registered just a week or so ago. I've mostly been just looking about, voting on polls, and posting comments when/if necessary. Generally what I tend to do on forums.

I joined after Skyrim was announced, despite being a big TES fan since Morrowind. I never really saw the appeal of game-specific forums in the past... and always imagined them to be fairly dead communities with nothing more than a handful of posts saying how wonderful the game is daily.

I even remember exactly why I joined - to complain about children. If I knew I was going to stick around, I probably would've picked a better username...

Probably a much higher percentage of active members. And I expect that number to double after Skyrim launches.

A buttload. I kinda joined up on account of whispers of Skyrim, although they were just whispers around then. The were lots of posts made about Skyrim having been trademarked and whatnot.

I joined the forums because of Skyrim. I just never got to it before, been a big fan of TES for a while now... I'll bet this whole forum has at almost doubled since Skyrim's announcement.

I actually made an account back in about 2008 but it was so long ago that it could have been before then as well. I didn't post much, though, and when I finally was interested enough to post here I decided to make a new account. That said, a lot of people here already had accounts before the one that they use. It's nearly impossible to tell how many new members are here.

I can't even remember why I joined this board, but I assume I wanted to read about what Skyrim would be like! I left the forum thinking "meh I guess Beth hasn't even begun making Skyrim, or at most it's just a bunch of coding and polygons being worked on" :spotted owl:

I came back when Skyrim was announced! And I see the board traffic have increased alot since Beth revelead Skyrim for the first time! :foodndrink:

Quite a few, what do you expect though. Each Elder Scrolls ( The series just keeps getting more popular) game more people have join the forums, but it's good for the community!

Edit: Yay! I've finally made diviner after three+ years!

And they should count the week after. A HUGE amount of people will buy the game then sign up here.

I was almost 4 star on my old account, but then I made this one so I could be known more professionally as a modder. The rank or post count didn't carry over. So don't underestimate me! :P

I joined after Skyrim was announced,
Dude, that's awesome! You made "Diviner" rank in like a tiny bit over 4 months. Took me years to get Curate. Playin' catch-up now though.

Hang in there, if others can get 3 stars in a few months, so can you! ;)
