I was forced to vote in each catagory. But I do not own it on the 360.
Got 'em all. Don't understand how others don't by now. I know some people are hurting for money, but...
I can see some folks not getting Hearthfire, as it's more a RP DLC than anything else. Although it does add some nice random encounters and other content like that and it was pretty reasonable.
I suppose. I can't understand personally how someone wouldn't want to make their own houses in 3 cool locations for only 5 bucks though. I get that people would have preferred a bigger dlc, but its not like this took the same time, or cost the same amount. For the price and what it is, its great. IMO.
But opinions opinions. Hard for me to understand not playing this game to roleplay.
I got all, on the xbox. Only problem I really have with the Skyrim DLC is that there was no Orsinium DLC to follow up the Dragonborn one, given how the city is now seated right on the border to Skyrim.
Espescially since the Legendary Edition is released. I mean, it costs 20 bucks less than the base game + all DLCs individually bought.
So, there's an Xbox user that does not have the base game yet purchased all of the DLC?
Hearthfire is nothing else but a simple house mod with a price tag. Why should I pay a single cent for a mod that has very little content?
I can get better houses from Nexus for free.
As I type this post, the XBox section shows more votes for DLC than for the base game. That doesn't sound quite right to me.
Never mind, it just changed. I must have viewed the poll while somebody was still voting.
That is very true. And I implement quite a few mods form the Nexus. However, Hearthfire does add some special ingredients for all of my alchemist users. And some of my favored mods require it.
EDIT : spelling / grammar
Some people don't like the DLCs. Others may think the DLCs are way overpriced.
I bought Skyrim on release day for the 360, but as soon as I discovered mods I repurchased for PC - within a few weeks I think
Because you can build this one yourself. I've seen the mod equivalent, and this is better to me. Even when I go PC, I'll still be using those houses. May pick a different location, but thats it.
I'm going PC because of mods, but I'd rather have developer content any day.
And come on, its five bucks. Its not like they're pumping out micro content.
I re-voted and thanks for fixing the poll.
I agree, I think it was very reasonable for the actual content your getting. New npc's, food, houses and the possibility to grow a family.
I really liked that it was so cheap, it was like a little " Merry Christmas" present from them to us. I also though giving away mounted combat free was awesome, thanks Beth
Recently explored dragonborn, the main quest was a little short, but the actual content is pretty dense, and it was interesting too. I liked the " De ja vue" feeling I also got!
I have all three, personally I think that the DLC'S were all very strong. With powerful and consistent questlines and engaging characters, not to mention new world spaces, realms and amazing architecture.
You didn't rush them, and you did an excellent job...if only Skyrim has also been given space to breath ....
Still, on the DLC front, absolute top nosh for your Wonga!
Got all the DLC for the 360 on release day. My first semester at College may have been affected just a smidgen by the release dates of Heartfire and Dragonborn(especially this one, that released on the week of finals). Still passed with high marks, though.
I can't imagine living without them after having them for so long. Even on my PC version I can't go without Heartfire. For some reason I feel DLC are mandatory for a game's full experience, especially this game since each DLC introduces new mechanics along with new content. And in the case of Dragonborn, continues the game's plot. Sorta.
Not that I agree with holding out on content just to make more money (looking at you Fable III). The only thing Skyrim's guilty of in that regard, though, is being rushed so it could meet a pretty release date and leaving out content that could have been brought back, which is understandable.
I think I'm rambling now. DLC=awesome.
I agree. I put in the same category as Horse armor or the weapon and costume packs for Mass Effect.
I don't fully agree with the developer content part. Using an example I found recently when returning to Oblivion, there is Hoarfrost Castle, which is similar to the Fighter's Stronghold in many ways, including most major themes. However, Hoarfrost is an interesting questline where you, among other things, restore the castle you got for taking it back from hostile forces by doing things like restoring the castle funds by getting back the tithe system from local farms under your protection and the like, instead of just going to some guy and paying X gold. It even deals with a similar castle secret, just in a more substantial and interesting way.
If I were to describe Hoarfrost, I would say it is the Fighter's Stronghold as it "should" have been. Don't get me wrong, I like the more substantial developer content, like Shivering Isles and Dragonborn, but I'm not going to take anything away from mods who do things better or try to say that developer content has some special status.
Good point. I should say On the same "level" if that makes sense. Or the same size. Some mods I've seen though are really stepping up in quality though, so I may sing a different tune later.
