11.11.11 How many people going to midnight release

Post » Wed Mar 30, 2011 8:52 am

Go...to... What? I don't understand.

You open steam and press the "add to cart" button. That's how video games are purchased. What madness is this?

I'm going to preload it on steam and play it instantly at 12.

Buying on steam is awfully tempting cause then I can really play the second it comes out. Hmm to box or not to box.

This is true... Everyonce in a while I get an incredible feeling that I want to attend E3 this year. I feel as though the overall spectacle will be even more overwhelming with Skyrim most likely being a main portion of the Conventions attention. And as for the poll I will most defiantly be at Gamestop for Midnight Release.

No need to go to a midnight release. I play PC only, and there are 2 GameStop stores within 3 miles from me, so if somehow one doest have it ill go to the other one.

As for why no midnight launch? Because sleep passes seeminly instantly for me, and everyone, so i will go to sleep on 11/10/11 and wake up 11/11/11, hop in my cr, and go get the game. By doing so, I avoid any lines, miss nothing, and don't look like the 5-10 weirdos sitting out in front of a store late at night. If it were actually something big, like (god save us) a new iPhone, or Xbox, then sure, i can see that, but a videogame? really?

Get some sleep, get it in the morning, and you will be better rested and can play longer.

he end.

Well, since its on a Friday, it seems like it might be a fun thing to do. I'm usually up super-late anyway.

People have better things to do then play video games.

At midnight?

That's what I thought. I went to my local GameStop the day of Black Ops release, at about 12 P.M., and there was a line out the door.

And everyone, my heart literally just dropped in my chest. I forgot that I'm going to college, getting an apartment, and a job when I move to Knoxville in a couple of months. I was planning on doing what I did for Fable III, which was:

1. Play Fable II until about midnight
2. Wake up at 10 A.M., get ready, eat breakfast, and head to GameStop
3. Return back home, game in hand, and play it until the next morning

If I could do that with Fable III, I'm scared to imagine what I could do with Skyrim.

I don't like midnight releases, i like to start playing a game at around 4 pm, (don't ask me why i treat playing a new game like alcohol, I have no idea myself) so I will be buying it the day after.

I will be attending a midnight release and taking the day off from work. =)

I know people have other stuff to do, and it's just a game; however, it's just one weekend out of an entire year to do something I really enjoy, which is playing TES.

I'm planning to pre-order from Steam.

Hopefully I will be able to download and install in advance and begin playing when the game unlocks at precisely 12:01 am, while many people are still waiting in line at Gamestop.

I will do the same.

Yup, I am in no means a collector and all my games seem to break after a few years or be stuffed in a random box where they never see daylight. I have gone over to Steam on all games I buy. I find it more practical and even though more expensive sometimes it is just... great :) Then again, if i suddenly can't download/get a game anymore I am going go nerd-rage, but so far it haven't happened :)

Yea I'm planning to Pre-order from steam but I might not get to playing it right away, just depends on if I have the time or not. I love the Elder Scrolls but it's not my life and sometimes other stuff gets in the way of playing a game on launch day.

Though seriously. I would not expect that from Steam. From past experience you are first locked into the time zone of the Steam Servers and then you are likely to require a couple gig patch before playing. :(

I promised myself Halo:Reach would be the last midnight release I would attend. (as it was tradition for me) I think I can wait a day or so, or a few hours... :s
Skyrim does look so tasty though... :unsure2:

Halo: Reach was the first and last midnight release for me. I hated the midnight release.
