Same problem. Started just after the "come fly with me" quest.
I can't believe a game this big could be allowed to be put on sale when it's so full of bugs!
Not just small ones either. The game is now completely unplayable. Please fix these problems asap.
I almost think I should get my money back as this game seems to have been put on sale only half finished.
Sorry for going on but I feel abit cheated. Loved fallout 3 now just feel let down.

I have no dlc error as well.
Just as i was about to release inmates in vault #3, i was 40 hours in only save that works is at 30 hours.
i will just have to wait,any ideas what this update will fix appart from dlc and mission errors ?

96 hours play.. 3 vaults explored, two quests that the dlc bug is supposedly linked to.. no game breaking bug. Of course I deleted the DLC from the hard drive, deleted all previous saves, cleared the cache and started a new game when I first heard about the DLC bug. If a bug is called "the DLC bug".. it just seemed obvious to get rid of the DLC. I've made numerous saves, permanent saves at each major area in the game and back up saves on the internal hard drive all in expectation of getting the bug.. but so far so good. As I plan to go through the game with several different types of characters and also am trying to plan out the best path through the game to do as much as possible I'm treating this first play through as a test anyway.

It's too bad the F3 forums only go back to 2009 otherwise everyone could look back and see all the complaints and bugs that came with that on release.. and also notice that the first major patch didn't come out for two months..
Also just google Falout 3 corrupted save and you'll notice that it had the same problem. Read the Fallout 3 wiki on bugs and you'll notice that most of the bugs in the game are the same they had in F3. I'm just pointing this out as most people seem to believe that Fallout 3 was less buggy.

At least most of the gaming public could enjoy playing the game,oblivion & fallout 3 had nowhere near as many ck ups.

40 hours in was doing vault # 3 ncr mission.

Anyway, i'm glad that i'm not the only one! And the people who think it happens just with a minority of the people will be hushed when at one time or another they will encounter the same problem!! As you can read it also happens to people who are already 50+ hours into the game!!

A quote from Bethesda:

"Bethesda announced this morning they shipped five million copies of the game worldwide"

So you believe that it's closer to like 3 million people that are having this problem and only 200-300 people are on this board complaining? Because you're saying it's the majority of the people having the issue if it's not the minority.

all i can say is thank god i saved before i went through vault 3 lol. after killing the guy i needed to there, i went back to hsu to claim the reward and my game froze. i tried reloading the autosave inside of camp mccarran and there it was...DLC error...now i still have my save before vault 3...but it took an hour and a half to clear that place out of loot...so...bummer. and whats to say that the same thing wont happen again once ive made it back to hsu for the second time? they need to fix this...

Here Here I'm not going to give up on the game but if its not fixed before Nov 8th then its going towards black ops and I'll just wait till it drops in price or something hopefully eventually they fix what they broke

I′ve started to have problems with saved files mostly with the autosaves, i always save my games so at this point i can play but the problem is that when i go into the strip (the monorail is destroyed so i can′t use it), when it finishes loading the screen goes black, my 360 doesn′t respond and the only thing i can do is turn off the thing, it also happends while trying to cross the dam, system crashes and there′s nothing to do

?Does anybody have the same problem?

The fact that you can actual load the game and that the crash happens during gameplay says that what you have is not the DLC error being discussed in this thread.

And to ADoseOfBuckly: the save point/DLC content error is mentioned in the Bethesda blog about the upcoming patch, so I'd say that even if only a minority of us have encountered it, they still consider it a primary concern.

I have posted around when this topic first came out on page 3. I have some updates, hopefully this info helps.

I taught i might put this on here, since i have never posted what bugs or glitches i have experienced before. (I try to be positive )

I have had the following Bugs/Glitches (Xbox360 user)

1. NPC/Companions fall or glitch into ground or map.

2. Choosing to side one way on a certain quest and no matter the choice's i make, the outcome is different than what it should be.

3. At least 6 corrupted saved data files, always after i downloaded the patch. (The bug that says DLC no longer available, DLC Required to load saved data.) The DLC i have is the mercenary map pack pre-order from best buy. I have since made a new game (Without the patch and DLC content on my drive.) and have finished it. I notice the corrupted data was caused when i downloaded the patch, i tested this 5 times. I was also asked by Gstaff to send in a 512MB memory card with my Non-corrupted data and corrupted data 2-3 weeks ago, which i did and he said it helped. I see this specific problem occurring mostly to xbox360 and PS3 users, not PC.

4.Weight problems with items,stacking items and quest items.

5. Specific quest that bug when choosing certain choices, quest such as Aba Daba Honeymoon, The Papa Khan quest. (Mostly NRC and Strip quest.)

6. VATS freezing up,Weapons freezing up.

Hopefully this all gets fixed to the best of the company's ability and this great game is playable to its full extent.

Edit P.S wanted to add it must be random, or is caused by the patch or DLC data itself.

I got this game breaking save game issue whilst hunting Cazadores eggs, nothing to do with any of the vaults, one thing I had noticed was that the longer I played the game in any one session the longer it took for any area transitions, be that fast travel or just entering doorways.

My Game has been updated, however I have no FO:NV DLC installed.

About 60+ hours of wasted time, all mine are corrupted, game is out of the drive and waiting for the update, if they ever fix it.
Went out and got COD Black Ops to pass the time with today, oh joy

We have been told that the fix will be available in the coming weeks, I for one find that to be a deliberately vague term, are we talking a week and a half or are they saying weeks because it sounds better than in a month or next month or such?. I realise they have said they are testing and awaiting Microsoft certification, but if they think it's ready are they not able to get a more concrete timeline from Microsoft than the vague term just mentioned?.

As addicting as this game is, after reading this and other threads online, I'm sort of tempted to put it down until the patch is released. I haven't had the issue yet-- I've been avoiding Come Fly With Me and Vault 3 in particular-- but there is no way I want to risk ALL of my saves. Plus, it sounds like the fix WON'T help ones who have been hit, just ones who haven't yet; a prevention patch? If that is the case, guess I can dump some time into Fable 3 before then. Not sure though... I really do love the game and want to keep playing. I've had some freezes and other glitches, but at worst they've been annoying and in some cases actually hilarious.

I just got hit by this bug yesterday. I'm level 26. It started when I left Vault 3. I can reload any game before I leave vault 3. I can even make a new save and reload it while I'm still in Vault 3. Once I leave Vault 3 I can no longer load any new saved game. So basically I am stuck in Vault 3. Bethesda should make me a new NPC who forever haunts Vault 3.

I lost 10 hours of game play to this glitch and even if it was a save corruption its unlikely that it did it on two different save files and i just hope they fix this in the "big update" they have coming up. otherwise brilliant game

As above please poll so we can gauge the extent of this error. Seems to occur around Vault missions, although it can creep up at any time during the game. Basically corrupting your save files, so you recieve an error message, stating Downloadable content is not available, for most people this means the lastest files are lost, and in the best scenario a prior game save of 10 hours+ may be needed. Myself....I lost 33 hours of gameplay, so ill be damned if im going to reload my 1 hour 4 minutes save file and start running around with a pea shooter again!

Official error states....

'This game relies on downloadable content that is no longer available. Some objects may be no longer available. Continue Loading? Y/N......Y = The storage device you selected in no longer available. Load canceled'

Official post stated -

"On consoles, we are aware that a small group of 360 users are seeing a DLC warning which is preventing you from loading save games. We are absolutely looking into this bug now, along with other reports of save game corruption. It is our highest priority right now that we find out what is causing it. In the meantime, we recommend you save often, and revert to an older save if this occurs."

So we are waiting..............

Can you post a copy of this email???

Also can I urge everyone who is experiencing this error to email Bethesda on the following link....HOPEFULLY this will make them get their arses in gear.

I have emailed support, and asked when we do receive a fix - will we be able to recover our current corrupt games...I got the following:

'Hello,

It would ultimately depend on the cause of the issue. If it is simply the game not recognising your saves for some unknown reason then it may be possible to fix the game and by extension, your saves.

However, if your saves are simply corrupt then there would be no way to recover them'

i have encountered dlc errors while playing trying to use the gun that i downloaded my player shows a red square around me with a ! on top of the box. i learned what it was because i was playing the game and all of a sudden the game went blurry and i could not see nothing so i pushed L1 on my ps3 getting a downward view on my person and i saw this box that was causing me not to see anything. so i just equiped another gun and it went away.

I got this bug shortly after doing the 'Come Fly With Me' quest. It was annoying, and corrupted all of my saves, but I went through, deleted all the saves and started over. It happened twice more around the same place. I'm not starting again at this point, waiting for a fix.

I went out a few days after I gave up the 3rd time and bought Fable 3, played all the way through it to 100% while waiting for a patch to come through for this game. Still nothing.

Really freaking lame, guys. What a rip off.
