As above please poll so we can gauge the extent of this error. Seems to occur around Vault missions, although it can creep up at any time during the game. Basically corrupting your save files, so you recieve an error message, stating Downloadable content is not available, for most people this means the lastest files are lost, and in the best scenario a prior game save of 10 hours+ may be needed. Myself....I lost 33 hours of gameplay, so ill be damned if im going to reload my 1 hour 4 minutes save file and start running around with a pea shooter again!

Official error states....

'This game relies on downloadable content that is no longer available. Some objects may be no longer available. Continue Loading? Y/N......Y = The storage device you selected in no longer available. Load canceled'

Official post stated -

"On consoles, we are aware that a small group of 360 users are seeing a DLC warning which is preventing you from loading save games. We are absolutely looking into this bug now, along with other reports of save game corruption. It is our highest priority right now that we find out what is causing it. In the meantime, we recommend you save often, and revert to an older save if this occurs."

So we are waiting..............

I have emailed support, and asked when we do receive a fix - will we be able to recover our current corrupt games...I got the following:

It would ultimately depend on the cause of the issue. If it is simply the game not recognising your saves for some unknown reason then it may be possible to fix the game and by extension, your saves.

However, if your saves are simply corrupt then there would be no way to recover them'

all of my saves have been corrupted by this as i put about 30 hours in and i am very frustrated. If this doesnt get fixed soon im gunna drop this awesome game that i spent my hard earned money on

Yup, me too. Luckily (luck 50 I guess) I had some older save files that worked. But yeah it isnt fun.

I read trouble about this game everywhere...

Still it gets a 84% average (still way lower than other FO games). And maybe it deserves 84% if not so buggy.

Ive never really played 'none xbox live' games, and I loved it...but alas I was severely punished....albeit by Xbox live DLC error. Im a bit dissapointed that in their statement they said...'A small number experiencing DLC error....from reading forums etc its loads!

I dont understand how this issue isnt 1st priority...

This BREAKS the game, makes the game absolutely unplayeable!!!

And they fix turning heads that are annoying and Caps Glitches that affect NO ONE... because everyone with those glitches can still PLAY... but not with the DLC fu*kup

Keep n mind that most people even coming to this board or complaining about it online are the ones that have already hit the bug. It's very possible most people simply haven't been hit by it and so haven't had a reason to come online and talk about it in the first place.

I'm not saying this isn't a big issue, and that Bethesda shouldn't get their asses in gear to fix it, because they really need to....but it might not be as widespread as you think.


That being said. WTF Bethesda, at least give us SOME info as to what's going on.

Oh man. I thought it was because my xbox is currently offline due to moving. I figured that I would be fine once I got the internet up and running and downloaded the update from last week. Reading these comments leads me to believe I am screwed. I tried my last three save files and each resulted in the same download content error. I stopped trying because I was afraid I was somehow corrupting the files by trying to load them.

By the way, I just finished Come Fly With Me before the error occurred. I have not been to a vault yet.

Yeah i had just finished Come Fly With Me -great quest- but after i saved and turned off my console i came back and all of a sudden i cant play my save anymore. I have been hearing that its something to do with the space suit you can pick up in the quest, but that's all speculation.

96 hours play.. 3 vaults explored, two quests that the dlc bug is supposedly linked to.. no game breaking bug. Of course I deleted the DLC from the hard drive, deleted all previous saves, cleared the cache and started a new game when I first heard about the DLC bug. If a bug is called "the DLC bug".. it just seemed obvious to get rid of the DLC. I've made numerous saves, permanent saves at each major area in the game and back up saves on the internal hard drive all in expectation of getting the bug.. but so far so good. As I plan to go through the game with several different types of characters and also am trying to plan out the best path through the game to do as much as possible I'm treating this first play through as a test anyway.


It's too bad the F3 forums only go back to 2009 otherwise everyone could look back and see all the complaints and bugs that came with that on release.. and also notice that the first major patch didn't come out for two months..
Also just google Falout 3 corrupted save and you'll notice that it had the same problem. Read the Fallout 3 wiki on bugs and you'll notice that most of the bugs in the game are the same they had in F3. I'm just pointing this out as most people seem to believe that Fallout 3 was less buggy.

I too have been hit by this game breaking bug. I had over 25 different save files, of those, only 1 loads. 5 hours before my last save. It happened to me after interrogating the legion prisoner at Camp McCarran Terminal Building. 45.42.38 hours into the game, Level 18.

Please tell me they are working on a fix......

I have nothing to back this up with, but I would bet my life that FO3 had nowhere near as many cases of corrupted save files as NV...

Can anybody recall there being this much pvssyr about game-breaking save-game bugs back in 2008? I don't.

I never had a single problem out of fallout 3 and i loved it. i also love new Vegas better than fallout 3 but my love is turned to hate with all the bugs this game has i cant enjoy my game because every-time i try to play though the game about every 20 hours i waste the stupid dlc bug occurs. this game is unplayable.
Bethesda is doing a really good job of keeping us in the dark about this issue also.....SIGH

I got it shortly after accepting the Come Fly With Me quest when loading a save in Novac (still was able to load the actual game). Got paranoid because I've been reading up on the major bugs in this forum since release, stopped playing for about 24 hours because I was afraid eventually I'd corrupt my saves, got too anxious to keep playing, went back, completed Come Fly With Me, and then the DLC error notification went away on all my saves. Haven't seen it since and I'm at level 14, got about 57 hours in, been to the Strip a million times, finished Ring-A-Ding-Ding or whatever it's called, and still playing/ My only bugs are the arms going up during stealth sometimes, my gun disappearing sometimes in 1st perspective, the occasional freeze, and Motor-Runner's helmet not being able to be dropped.

So in other words, got the notification before, it went away, haven't seen it in days since, still playing.

Yeah the same error occurs on the PC version- corrupted saves. It also happens in the same areas (Vault 3 and REPCON Test Facility). There are also similar reports of the issue among PS3 users.

Of course, on the different platforms you get a different error message or none at all. On the PC it simply crashes to desktop when trying to load a corrupted savegame. Other than the message you get, the problem behaves exactly the same across platforms and is affecting MANY people. They have said, in general at least, that fixing "savegame corruption" issues is their top priority although the way they have responded it does seem unclear if they realize this is a cross-platform issue.

If this is indeed true, all it shows me is that the developers have'nt learned a bloody thing.

CCP managed to release an update for their game Eve Online which deleted the boot.ini file of the OS... Which basically breaks the entire computer.

I came across this bug on Sunday when I tried to load up my savegame where I'd just finished the "Come Fly With Me" quest. Luckily, I had a save that I was able to load, a few game hours earlier where I'm just about to head off to get the *SPOILER* components for *SPOILER* Rocket Launch. I replayed the rest of the mission, making sure to save manually a lot and reloading my game to see where the problem was occuring. For me, it was at the point where you get to mission control to initiate the launch itself, NOT when you actually complete the mission. And yes - I did pick up the space suit (I heard some people saying this was related to the problem), but I tried un-equipping it and even putting it back where I found it and it still wouldn't let me load up my game past this point.

Anyway, just thought I'd pitch in with my experiences and provide some much needed test data for the devs. I mean, if we don't test the game, who will?

I personally think you should have your poll out on the general page. If we are in here chances are we have some problem. I for one am curious and think the bug is a lot more prevalent then they would have us believe. How can you enjoy putting hours into a game on even the off chance you work will all go down the tubes with this bug?

If this doesn't get patched by Nov. 9 I think a lota ppl will just drop if for black ops, its a shame tho cuz i am sure new vegas will eventually become a good game

Just finished Come Fly with Me now unable to load any save game

After 33 hours of gameplay I got the same issue report. I then had to go back only 1 hour, to be able to load a game. I was relieved!

That was untill I had played about 1 hour, and I was going to load a game I had recently saved, and it made the same freaking issue. I phoned the Bethesda support, had to talk with some dude who sounded like he had smoked crack and really did nothing to assist me other than saying "I think you need to start a new game entirely", that is what I got out of 10 minutes of problem solving (can't wait to see what that will cost me on my phonebill since I called from Denmark).

Im going to try to run some test now, trying to just let my character idle and save once in a while, then see when I stop being able to load again..
My option is to complete the game and discover everything without ever turning of my Xbox, and always go with my first instinct since I can't really - save, try one option, load, try another option.

How can this be an acceptable glitch? - Isn't this as bad as producing a car where the breaks fail and then not recalling the car and compensating the people who have purchased the car?!

And how will they - if they even solve the glitch - help out the few people (such as myself) who doesn't have their Xbox connected to internet? - I doubt they will send out a "repair" disc, even thou the game says nothing about requirement for internet.. I think this is a breach of trust and just down right lousy service from Bethesda gaming.

Am I out of line, or am I right to be this angry?

*EDIT* Ran my test now, it does not seem to have anything to do with the time. Problem is when I leave Vault 3. So I can go back to save games before entering Vault 3. Still this is bulls**t.

Happened to me...AGAIN....the first time I played through was about 15 hours in and the game and my games saves crapped out with this issue, so said whatever I like this game too much to stop playing..this is my 2nd play through and I saved basically every 15 mins..or less every time i fast travel or walk through a door. 2nd Playthrough 15 hrs in Most of my game saves has the DLC error, have to go back 5 hours for the next game save to work.... Come on Really...

It definitely seems that "Come Fly with Me" causes this problem, I to just finished this mission and now cant load my game saves. I've never been so frustrated by a game, 38 hours played so far and now just endless waiting for a fix. AAAARRRRGGGGGHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!! :brokencomputer:
