How many power armor suits are in F4?

Post » Fri Nov 27, 2015 12:42 pm

I have 2 right now, I hardly use them but I think it'd be cool to make a room in one of my settlements with all power armor displayed, kind of like Tony Starks Iron Man room from the movies. So any idea how many are able to be found?

It you can pickpocket the fusion cells out of any enemies with power armor, they will get out. So this includes all BoS, the power armor raiders and any other NPCs that may have power armor..... So... you could literally build a stark tower in game with hundreds of power armors in them.

Dranlord already listed the sets available. There are also paint jobs: a handful of them are available by default, one can be purchased (for 8000+ caps!!!), three can be unlocked by magazines, and a couple are available from the BOS depending on your rank.

edit: I think the Fusion Cores are considered to be "equipped items" so if you plan on stealing worn frames, be ready to invest in the pickpocket perk.

Are you asking for how many variants of power Armor there are or how many frames you can get? Aside from the frames preset on the map, vendors fairly commonly sell frames which might respawn with other gear. Therefor you could have an infinite source of power armor frames. That slightly makes up for the fact that you cant recover or scrap the frames of enemy armors. it could be fun to dedicate a settlement to Power Armor Hoists and automated defenses, zero settlers. Make it your personal armory.

I've found about 10 after exploring about half of the game's map. Does anyone have a suggestion on what armor to upgrade? I'd hate to waste the resources on an inferior suit.

Resources are abundant anyway, but X-01 is the best suit. And T-60 is the second best and much easier to obtain than the X-01

X-01 is difficult to acquire if you do it piecemeal. But there is a fully intact set available if you're level 30+. Google is your friend there.

Yeah I intentionally avoided any guides related to the game and looking anything up... I got my full set without any outside help. 100 hours on my first playthrough without anything of the sort. Adds a lot of richness to the game.

I have 6 sets. Which are sitting collecting dust.. they are more like house decorations for me. I'm a sniper build, last thing I need is power armor. I collect them to keep them out of the hand of raiders (or anything else).

I also have about 40 fusion cores. Maybe I'll upgrade one of the sets and go on a rampage. I have been thinking of wearing one of the sets and going to the highest floor of the Trinity Tower and jumping. Power armor takes no falling damage right?

So far i haven't encountered anything that requires power armor beyond the set piece fight at the start that introduces it. they sit all nice and rusty in Sanctuary for the settlers to look at. I suppose getting through high radiation zones might require them. maybe some behemoth fights would be easier with them. but i have tangled with deathclaws at uncomfortably close ranges without PA and they are normally the greatest regularly encountered threat so really... just upgrade what you think looks best. I doubt you'll find an area you cant get past because you upgraded the wrong helmet.

I'm about to start a new character now that I've played around twenty hours on my first guy getting to grips with the new mechanics. I'm also planning to be generally sneaky and engage at range, but I am planning on having one of each variant of power armour in my Red Rocket base so that when the feeling takes me I can hop into a T45 and Minigun everything, or a T60 with a Gatling Laser. I'm even planning on having a messed up looking Raider variant that I can go on a massacre (of Raiders) with an extended Ripper with; should be funny.

I am doing this at The Castle. I have 12 suits of PA so far. Mostly T-45 variants. A few incomplete though.

The complete ones all have a different paint job and are placed around the inner wall.

I only ever used it extensively when going to the Glowing Sea area. I'm about to start working on getting my Endurance up so I can take the Ghoulish perk though (after I finish the science, gun nut and armorer perks).

One thing I have noticed is that settlers will get into them if there is a threat around a settlement. Its kind of cool to watch them get into them to take down 20 or so ghouls. As long as they dont run off with them and dont touch my X-01 Im good.

Take the power core out of every armor that you're not in and you'll never have to worry about it.

Take the core out of the X-01 and you should be good. leave them some raider sets or something to feel good about themselves and otherwise not worry about attacks. it should be feasible to leave one suit per settlement. Remember, once everyone is special than no one is and you wont be needed to solve everyone else's problems.

HazMat suit doesn't offer the protection (which you sorta need) that power armor does.

I've four sets at the moment, three complete (T-45. T-60 & Raider) and one partial (X1 minus the arms) at their repair stations at my main base.

oh sweet baby jesus i can't believe i never thought of that, and with the build size glitch not limiting how much you can build you could make it truly awesome using light boxes to spell your character's surname across the top, without sacrificing build size.

I must do this.

..omg omg and you can move all your companions there and have avengers tower, strong is the freaking hulk. *hyperventilates*

So this is how the Lore dies; with the thunderous clank of wasteland farmers operating power armor without any training whatsoever.

You can wear the Hazmat suit and the Power Armor at the same time... so double the protection.

And I am kind of doing this at red rocket because the curved roof reminds me of stark tower. I'm going to line them up on the roof all the way around. Too bad you can't come close to the colors though.

I mean its cool we got hot rob, and pink and a jet fighter like pain job and other paint depending on your crafting perks. The new armor definitely reminds me of Iron Man though, but more for a small version of Hulk Buster......

My question, from a canon stand point, these are older versions of the suits right? so technically, couldn't we have these and the suits from Fallout 3?
