How Many Quests?

Post » Mon Oct 25, 2010 12:45 am

How many quests should we expect? Between the main quests, all the factions and sub factions (like the kings and powder gangers), all the companion quests, and the other miscellaneous side quests...200+?

"More than Fallout 3 but a lot of the sidequests are shorter."

If the majority of the quests are completely straightforward "do this, come back" quests, then I can see there being towards 200. I would prefer less quests with more depth though.

For Fallout 3 there were about 31 quests with no add-ons

and 44 with add-ons
and that is not counting the unmarked quests

More than doubles. Fallout 3 didn't really have all that many quests.

more like triples
but some of Fallout's quests prove to be more extensive than ones in TES
they are fewer but they do add more gameplay hours

If non dlc elder scrolls iv has 181 and fallout 3 with all dlc has 77 that's no where near triple?

It's true, with the exception of quests like "The Nuka Cola Challenge" (should have been unmarked) most of them were pretty decent. With that said, It still left a bit to be desired. I hope for the same amount of quests as Fallout 3, but with a bunch of "Kill this person. Collect this thing. Convince this person." quests that will be there mostly as something to do.

There were 44, not 77.

I don't think that they're counting quests that didn't give an achievement like that chinese spy quest in Point Lookout.

Here: http://fallout.wikia.com/wiki/Fallout_3_quests§
Count every main quest and side quest both from DLC's and Vanilla game including those that didn't give an achievement but exclude unmarked and repeatable quests.

Upon counting all of the quests (not including unmarked, including DLC) I got about 54, give or take. How'd you get your number Paragon?

My sincere apologies I gave false info earlier

After recounting all quests that are added to your pip-boy when activated
there are
33 quests with no add-ons
an extra 26 with all add-ons
so it comes out to 59 in my count

Cause it's just a collection quest, just like gettin scrap metal for walter to fix his pipes in megaton.
Only difference is that it ends after 30 nuka cola quantum bottles.
--------------
My count.
Vanilla Game
Tutorial: 3
Main quests: 11 (all are achievements)
Sidequests: 17 (all are achievements)

DLC

O:A
Main Quest: 4 (all are achievements)

Pitt
Main Quest: 3 (all are achievements)

Broken Steel
Main Quest: 3 (all are achievements)
Side Quest: 3 (none are achievements)

Point Lookout
Main Quest: 5 (Three are achievements while two are not)
Side Quest: 5 (none are achievements)

Mothership Zeta
Main Quest: 3 (all are achievements)

Total sum for only quests with achievements: 28 Vanilla 16 DLC = 44 (With tutorial it's 47)
Total sum for all quests: 28 Vanilla 26 = 54 (With tutorial it's 57)
