How many septims do you currently have?

Post » Tue May 17, 2011 4:08 pm

At most I′ve had something like 200000 septims. It got boring however as I can buy anything I want at anytime, including services like recharging my gear. Now I′ve downed myself to zero septims and have found that is quite challenging so I think I′ll stay there for a while.
When it′s hard to find money I wanna be rich and when it′s easy I wanna be poor :)

From the top of your head, how many septims do you have?

69 at the moment. Errrr ya that's pretty poor. But when you live off the land and your magical talent, what more could you want?

Well i recently started my third playthrough after a long break from the game, 15 hours into the game i am level 5 and have 5000 septims. Thats quite a lot for me, i have never managed to get rich in oblivion before, not to the degree i can buy whatever i want. My second play i went through every quest line in game but still one house was all i could afford without cheating. This time i am taking my time persuading and haggling and selling to the same two merchants. Got varnados disposition to 95 without bribing him. That said i bought the 50 point feather early and have now made a 100 point feather spell.

About 30K. Ugh. Way too much.

My char is level 20 with only 50 strength (on purpose) and an inventory full of matching outfits for each occassion. She's never had the encumberance to pick up any loot to speak of. Even so, gold just gets too easy. I think she will go sell her bow for 800 and buy it back for 8K a few times. . . .

Current character- well over 2 million
Highest character- over 4.5 million

Both would be a lot higher except I don't play oblivion much these days- I have too many games I want to play to stick with any one for long .

My game is modded such that I can actually get value for high-ticket items, which means that I get a lot more per round of selling than most folks do. Unfortunately, there's really nothing to spend it on after I buy and furnish all the houses, which makes the mods somewhat pointless in the long run.

Then again, I knew that going in when I made them; I was just so tired of getting massively ripped off when selling or buying anything that I had to do something about it.

It doesn't help that I simply cannot make myself leave anything salable behind, no matter how hard I try; the habit is ingrained way too deeply from decades of playing RPGs in which you need to scraqe up all the loot you can to buy the next tier of equipment.

Augh. How is everyone getting so many septims? I would say that I only have about 1000-200 pieces currently. I'm finding it to be really hard to get rich. :/

I have a few hundred thousand septims, I sell lots of loot and the only thing that I really spend money on is bribing people.

How long have you been playing your character? Getting gold is hard and there is much to spend it on early in the game. Later in the game, the reverse is true.

There are many ways to make gold, but making and selling potions is my fave.

Well, in my case, the merchants are modded to have a lot more gold and at high Mercantile no longer rip me off, so I get full value for almost everything. As a result, at high levels I can get from 150-250K from one fort or ruin, and about 80-100K from caves. The largest Marauder forts can net me up to 300K, although anything over about 270 is fairly rare. Oblivion gates also pay in the 200K+ range, although their extreme size compared to spawn density tends to make them a slog.

That does depend on the inhabitants; critter dungeons usually yield far less loot than NPC ones, and among the NPCs Conjurers or Necromancers typically yield less than Bandits or Marauders.

I think I ended up with a bit over 400,000 with my first character before all my mods started conflicting to the point where I couldn't use him anymore. :(

My current character's at about 20,000 right now. Would be more, but I'm using the Order of Nibenay mod and it actually does cost quite a bit to get that up and running.

Damn, we need a "rimshot" emote in here! :)

On topic, 300k+. Right now I just loot gold and any cool magic items.

Same here. That′s how I got a bit over 200000. It′s the same with every game. But when I′ve played a game for some time I always discover what′s really true in real life too.

I have close to 300,000 last time I checked. I never buy anything, only sell. And I may have duplicated an item or two. :whistling:

Mods like Enchanced economy for one.

Well that;s how it is in my case. BUT you need more money at low level, but as you progress, septims lose their value. You'll have so much that you wont know what to do with it.

And I have 487,000. After a run through Rockmilk Cave, the drops I get out of there might get me 60,000 easy.
