took all 37 and then some. if it wasn't nailed down I took it.

heh the courier is super human, Those gold bars look the same as normal gold bar which has a weight of 27.5 pounds each, so 1,017.5 total. Now add everything else you may be carrying . You should not be able to move.

I could only carry 5, so I only needed 5. I checked the value after completing the DLC, and was excited at the 50,000 caps I now had, and then I realised there was nothing to buy with it. (Name a merchant who has 50,000 caps worth of goods that isn't the Gun Runners)

I loaded a save to start the DLC right before Kimball visits the dam, so I already stockpiled enough ammo for the finale and Lanius boss battle. I have the best armour and weapons in the game, so I can't spend the gold on new weapons or better armour.

I'm not even going to take the gold the next time I play Dead Money.

I didn't take any of it. If I want money, I hit the casinos of New Vegas.

Of course we don't need money. I took them because they're unique items I can't get anywhere else. They make my room in Novac look nice.

How did everyone get all of the gold bars? I just grabbed one and ran as if a Deathclaw found a way to use rollerskates.

Got both achievements but went with Safety Deposit Box option as my story choice. I love listening to hm on my pipboy and hope that keeping him alive has some unforeseen consequences (good or bad, don't care) in later DLC's. Plus I gave Veronica his message and wonder if it was some secret trigger that activated because he experimented on her like he did with the others Christine mentions.

Just loved DM but had to use youtube to get through certain areas. Made the vault escape a breeze. Hey I am 37 (therefor i had to get the 37 bars, its synchronicity) and will use what resources I can. And I can't overstate the usefulness of the "light step" perk prior to playing DM as it makes dealing with the traps a breeze. Looking back letting the 360 have it first made avoiding certain issues easy and I don't mind spoilers.

If it was your video that got me the gold then I bow to your initiative. I watched a grip for comparisons so u probably did help me.

Is leaving it all supposed to be some sort of moral lesson? How do you explain that to the rat-munching orphans of Freeside?

"Well, kids, it was a toss-up between your welfare or a cautionary headstone... and that gold was damn heavy, so stop crying."

Yeah I am old enough to not have to deal with the moral lessons. Could you imagine how people would have reacted if there hadn't been an exploit found? I have to compulsively "keeps what i finds" and using my excess wealth to build up swanky safehouses. I shant dare spend a single bar; it's mine i says!

Right now....Mr. House. He blew 900,000 caps on retrieving the chip alone.....I don't see how the courier could get out of Sierra Madre with more than about 550-600,000 caps worth of swag. I got out with around 500,000 in gold and pre-war money....counting weapons and armor a little over 500,000 + the ~4000 chips I elected not to cash in for pre-war money before leaving. I'm sure my hoard rivals any of the NCR Brahmin Barons but House probably has 5-10x that much or more, not counting the massive revenue stream from the casinos.

The question I'd have is what to do with it? One project that seems worthy would be to resurrect the Bison Steve....with that kind of money the building could be rehabbed properly, and even the roller coaster restored to function. And if the Deathclaws and Powder Gangers are eradicated the Long 15 would be "the" route to Vegas from the NCR again.

How very thoughtful. Do you play Simm games?

Non-glitcher, so I only took four bars of gold b/c I'm more interested in .308 BAR's than gold ones. I just didn't know of anything I could do with $300k that I couldn't do with $30k. But I know a lot of things I could do with a couple of automatic rifles....

I did not glitch either and i got 5 bars out, a Bar, a police revolver, 2 of Vera's dresses, and a bunch of pre war money, that was all I could carry at 210 lbs being my sober limit, i had to stay drunk to get that much out at 229/230 lbs. Hell i even left ammo i carried less than 100 rounds for both the Bar and the Police revolver, if i ran into a prolonged fight i would have been screwed. When i hit DM at level 23 i was pretty set in the Mohave anyway i had something like 30,000 caps stored , and like you i have very little need at this time for more caps, but a Bar well i can always use something to punch big holes in little jerks.

Every [censored] bar. Even before a glitch was found I was trying to find a way to take it all.

I did it without a glitch and im enjoying every damn second of that gold.

I took it all, I am still selling off the 118,000 in pre war money, which will net me a little over 500,000. Weekly 100,000 freebie of SM chips I can use at the vendor, and since I killed off House, I am the richest baddest bad ass in the badlands. "What me worry?"
