i had to take them all at least once. i was happy i didn't have to go outside intended game mechanics to do it. on subsequent playthroughs, i don't know if i'll take them all again. pre war money and the vending machine is all the reward i need from sierra madre. the gold bars are great decoration for the lucky 38, look out of place in novac.
i would have loved to see elijah's face when he opened the vault and saw no courier and no gold. and i would've made sure dean saw me leaving with all the gold (after i told him to let go lol).
the vending machine: if it breaks the game for you, don't use it. the dev's rewarded us for supporting them and their game by giving us a feature to use as we see fit. no different then DL'ing a mod for pc and picking and choosing what elements you want to use. don't blame the cake, blame the fat ass with the fork.
how can people be hurting for caps? my favorite pasttime (even with the wealth of the sierra madre) is killing fiends and muties for their guns and selling those. i still take jury rigging (for convenience now, no longer a necessity). i still scrounge every container. by level 10 you shouldn't have any problems whatsoever with money. my problem with money is finding stuff worthy to buy.
dlc needs to give us more than just another quest. i feel dlc should always reward the player with something extraordinary. sierra madre certainly delivered.
