How many of us...

took all the gold without glitching or cheating. a stealth boy and some timing and you can just walk out the front door before the barriers pop up.

i had to take them all at least once. i was happy i didn't have to go outside intended game mechanics to do it. on subsequent playthroughs, i don't know if i'll take them all again. pre war money and the vending machine is all the reward i need from sierra madre. the gold bars are great decoration for the lucky 38, look out of place in novac.

i would have loved to see elijah's face when he opened the vault and saw no courier and no gold. and i would've made sure dean saw me leaving with all the gold (after i told him to let go lol).

the vending machine: if it breaks the game for you, don't use it. the dev's rewarded us for supporting them and their game by giving us a feature to use as we see fit. no different then DL'ing a mod for pc and picking and choosing what elements you want to use. don't blame the cake, blame the fat ass with the fork.

how can people be hurting for caps? my favorite pasttime (even with the wealth of the sierra madre) is killing fiends and muties for their guns and selling those. i still take jury rigging (for convenience now, no longer a necessity). i still scrounge every container. by level 10 you shouldn't have any problems whatsoever with money. my problem with money is finding stuff worthy to buy.

dlc needs to give us more than just another quest. i feel dlc should always reward the player with something extraordinary. sierra madre certainly delivered.

I took all of them, took three steps.... then realized that I was overencumbered. So I dropped 32 bars and a buncha unwanted gear. Then after I was out of the vault, I decided that I didn't need the gold. It is now sitting in the BoS Bunker, surrounded by mines.

I took as many as i could. I wanted it all but i couldnt figure out how to get it all out.. Not that it matters anyway, i have beatin new vegas many times, and there is nothing left for me to do. So having the gold on me wont help me progress in the game. So i dont care about it really.. I thought maybe it would be cool to have all the gold bars, and line them up or stack them in my Room or something because they look cool but eh.. I wish they would have better better safehouses in these games. A hotel room, or a abandond shack isnt exactly a cool place to hang out in.

I had a mod on Fallout 3 that was a safehouse for you, and it was a bunker under groud, that had a all kinds of cool things like a Jacauise Tub (spelling ?) and other need rooms, where you could hang weapons on the walls, and stack ammo on shelvs, and hang armor on dummy's. I dunno, if i had something like that in New Vegas i might have tried to get the gold.

TBH i was a little disapointed in the ending of the game. You dont get to see Christina again, and the only thing in the vault was gold bars. I was expecting something better. When i read that the guy who built the place built it just to protect Vera, that was even more disapointing. I was hoping it was going to be some top secrete bunker with lots of cool things in it. The DLC was pretty enique that i must say, but it also got boring and repetative.

I learned to let go of the gold bars...

I let it go right into my safe in Novac!

Ok I've got a theory.

Well can we use the grab button to carry the gold bars? Basically allowng use to run through the defenses or make an easy fast sneak escape if we glitch?
Anyone tried yet?

Then once we reach the door just press a on the floating bars and poof in inverntory and your ready to go.

Sadly, no. That's one glitch the devs remembered.
