This. But wait, there's more!

I don't even get weekly chips. I got 250 (something like that... but *hundred* not *thousand*) one time. Maybe if you win 7k in the Sierra Madre Casino you get thousands weekly. If that's the case, then once again you have to go out of your way to earn this kind of reward. Hours out of your way. (and, without proof, I'm not going to believe than anybody can win that amount in under a couple of hours of gambling). Or maybe I'm just glitched (but I don't think so because I've been through the DLC with 3 characters, no gambling, and none of them get a weekly stipend in the Abandoned Bunker).

If you don't want something that you consider "game-breaking" (god I [censored] that term) then don't go out of your way to get it. If you do go out of your way to get it, don't [censored] that it's ([censored] here we go again) "over powered" or a threat to your delicate "game balance" sensibilities.

First thing I did once I restored the power was hit the blackjack table and play until I busted the bank....so I could be the first and only guest to ever do so. I also tried to complete as many of the challenges, like buying from the vending machines or triggering alerts on holograms, as I could. When I got back there was 100 chips and a 1000 chip voucher in the box already, and I think I'm getting new deposits closer together than every three days, sometimes I'll find 200 chips and 2 vouchers and i'm sure it hasn't been six days since the last visit. I'm trying to take a break until the next DLC hits to keep the game fresh...it's hard, I want to start again...but next time I play I'll see just how much time there really is between deposits.

But yes, the complaints about "game balance" and "self-nerfing" are tedious. I feel no sympathy for people who over-use features of a game to the point it takes all the fun out of it for them....especially when they try to compensate for it by demanding the devs take the feature out so no one else can use it. I burned myself out on Oblivion by enchanting a Daedric suit of armor with 20% chameleon spells on each piece so I could not be seen...but I didn't demand gamesas remove enchanting magic items from the game.

but im never at the suit,
i hang at the flouting house in the lake, but all the weapons and lurks always spawn so it would be a waste
(so im just selling them for caps i dont need)
i mean i got every friggin weapon i need in the game
including over 80 repair kits
so wtf do i need caps for? (seeing as i got a load of ammo)
(thats why i also bought pc version
so i could mod game /easyer or harder)

I got it all. All 37 plus all the armor and weapons I could find. I trekked through the Mojave one step at a time from the BoS Bunker to New Vegas, walking. Anything that got in my way died as my heavy, slow, power-armored, gun-wielding Samurai Jack [censored] moved from one destination to the next, walking! :gun:

go buy every gun from the Gun Runners, etc.

A very large collection of weapons makes for nice decoration.

Put some mines and C4 in place, kept hugging the electric wall in front of Elijah, and went through the moment he did. He got blasted to hell because of the mines, and I left with no less than thirty-seven bars of gold.

Holy hell, how did you get all? The total weight of all equals to like 1300 something.

If you don't mind being spoiled about the ending (don't know how far you've progressed) check out Youtube. Lots of videos there about how to get out with all 37 gold bars, using glitches and exploits. It's actually pretty easy, it was in fact harder for me to run all the way back than to keep hugging the electric fence in front of Elijah and going through when he did. The mines I set in place for him took care of our little conflict and I calmy walked out with all 37 bars. They indeed weigh a lot, so you'll have to walk instead of run, but if you have the Long Haul perk you can fast-travel with as much weight as you like, so I got back to Vegas after the DLC easily.

I

I didn't let the gold go to my head like Elijah and Dean, if the story had given me a valid reason to walk away from it....like being forced to choose between the lives of friends and/or innocents and the gold.....then I would have.

Its not a glitch or an exploit to sneak out with all 37 bars, its an actual option given to you by the game.

I recently completed this DLC for the third time.

That's now 3 characters who have walked out with 37 bars of gold. If I play through Dead Money 100 more times, I'm making sure I leave the Sierra Madre with 37 bars of gold every time.

I don't call it glitching, exploiting, or cheating. I call it success.

I don't think it is. Gold bars shouldn't weigh as much as they do ingame. The fact that they are so heavy is an obvious attempt to force the player to "let go". The Courier sees what greed can do to people, he has seen Dean and Elijah become obsessed with the vault. The whole point of the ending is that the Courier realizes what's important, and lets go of the gold.

Spoiler
Although my Courier really likes to buy loads of expensive goodies, so I took it all anyway. xD

I do the force field/explosives/stealth boy version of the feat. It's vaguely plausible. It's not as if the Courier is omniscient, much.
Not sure why I worry about plausibility after all those saves I made just to scout ahead, knowing I'd die and have to reload. If that's not an immersion breaker, I don't know what is.

I chose the lives of my companions over the gold everytime. I even got Dean to let go, and merged Dog/God, and talked Christine into letting me get rid of Elijah(I traqed him). Although I did take 4 gold bars with me. Btw, did anyone else find The Founder?

Gold fever leads to a early grave....just ask Elijah. I can get 400,000 caps somewhere else easier than I can find a new friend.

QFT. Look at them through a scope and they have 10oz stamped on them.

That's a bit over 10kg, or 22lb.
