Every [censored] bar. Even before a glitch was found I was trying to find a way to take it all.

I'm gonna break this threads rules and post here anyway.
I have no desire to take every gold bar with me, I take one to three depending on how much inventory space I got left then I finish it.

Damn right I took all that gold. Got it piled up with legion coins, sierra madre chips, and ultra luxe chips scattered around it, along with a smattering of counterfeit caps, on one of the recessed shelves in the Abandoned Bunker.

Let go? Not a chance. I looked at them through the holorifle scope and they really only weigh 10oz. That's only 10.4kg for all 37 (or 23lbs for you non-metrics).

I'm taking that with me. All of it.

That lesson about letting go? That's some BS right there. Elijah can learn that lesson, or maybe Dean. Not me. I could not possibly care less about that lesson.

It will be kinda funny if the devs see us doing it and go "ok thats how they glitched it out, stop them with a patch". Funny from my POV anyway.
I also walked away with every code (took ages to find) and over 200 throwing spears.
2000+ lbs over the limit. I will just have boone escort my past the cazadors into novac so I can stash my stuff. Cant be bothered with multiple trips. I would let go if I had too, but I dont

I didn't let the gold go to my head like Elijah and Dean, if the story had given me a valid reason to walk away from it....like being forced to choose between the lives of friends and/or innocents and the gold.....then I would have. There was no moral or ethical reason to leave the gold behind if I could manage the risk to my own life to get my mitts on it. Now I'm the second richest man in the Mojave and I didn't have to betray, cheat or murder anyone to do it.

I assume House is. Since House dies in every one of my games (except one so I could get the tasty achievements), it turns out that I'm the richest person in the wasteland.

I only took four bricks as that was the max I could carry.

I let go... of all the gold once I got it back to the Mojave, and not a moment before! 37 bars are sitting in Elijah's old footlocker. :biggrin:

Not sure if I posted it, but I got all 37.

Right now....Mr. House. He blew 900,000 caps on retrieving the chip alone.....I don't see how the courier could get out of Sierra Madre with more than about 550-600,000 caps worth of swag. I got out with around 500,000 in gold and pre-war money....counting weapons and armor a little over 500,000 + the ~4000 chips I elected not to cash in for pre-war money before leaving. I'm sure my hoard rivals any of the NCR Brahmin Barons but House probably has 5-10x that much or more, not counting the massive revenue stream from the casinos.

The question I'd have is what to do with it? One project that seems worthy would be to resurrect the Bison Steve....with that kind of money the building could be rehabbed properly, and even the roller coaster restored to function. And if the Deathclaws and Powder Gangers are eradicated the Long 15 would be "the" route to Vegas from the NCR again.

Lol I only took the 4 bars because it felt wrong to glitch or whatever to get all 37 out of there, and anyways im already rich lol, got everything I want ingame, so I just use the bars for decorationz.

I want to stack them into pyramids like they were in the vault.

I got out with 36 i left one for Father elijah in the vault,all 5 dead man's cards and a police pistol with one 357. round next to it.

I plan on selling all my gold to Obsidian in exchange for the ability to get all the unique weapons (ie YCS/186 vs Alien Blaster) whether you have Wild Wasteland or not.


Am I the only one who thought making it so you either get one or the other was a.. dare I say.. dumb move? Especially considering completists such as myself.

I avoided reading anything about Dead Money other than the promotional materials, so I didn't know about the glitch. I'm not worried about it anyway. I grabbed my four bars, went back to the casino, discovered that the highest bet in slots was 25, when to the tables, won my 10K from blackjack and realized that if I got only 6 back from each of the pre-war money, I'd still have more in weightless CASH than I got from 140 lbs of gold. So all told, I walked out with about 85K give or take.
