How Many Times Have You Restarted Your Game

Post » Wed Dec 07, 2011 6:02 am

I have restarted my game 4 times now because I'm either not satisfied with how my character looks, his goal, or the way I'm going about things. I'm curious to see if I'm the only one that's very picky on how someone goes throughout the game.

Zero times. I'm happy with my character because I took all the time I needed to get it right the first time.

I only restarted once. I ended up just completely messing up my character in my opinion because I just had perks EVERYWHERE and never used them all, not to mention I didn't like how my character used every style of fighting, that problem kind of just happened.

None. I refuse to restart or I'll end up restarting a bazillion times like I did in Fallout. I'm just going to play my Blacksmith/Archer/Conjurer/Destruction/Enchanter/Alchemist/Lockpicker until I can go no further. :D

Once. I'm fine with how my Drumner looks. I usually place that race or Breten in game since I like playing some sort of battlemage

Zero, I'm still on my original character. I got plenty ideas on how to do things different/better with a new character but there's still a lot I want to do with this one

I have 2 characters on the go. My first one is a "battlemagy" mutt type. Level 26.

My second is a level 9 thief.

I'm satisfied with both, I just wanted to try a thief as it's something I never played fully before. (I like mage types.) I've done the mage/battlemage thing in every other TES game.

None, I decided before we got the game I wouldn't do that this time and with the open leveling and no locked class system it makes it easier to change your ways/tactics if your not happy. I've always done that with all games restarted several times, this time I just wanted to go for it. It will probably be a couple of years for the next installment so there is plenty of time to make new characters and explore parts of the game I'm ignoring this time around.

Four times for me.
1. Haegar Wulfbrand - Nord Assassin - I was just trying to get a feel for the new stealth system
2. Ulfgar Ironbrand - Nord Warrior - First attempt at a melee class.
3. T'vash - Khajiit Assassin - My loveable cat is perfect. I wouldn't change him!
4. Ulfgar Iron-Brand - Nord Warrior - Remade to the no-fast-travel rule.

I'll start again for a 5th time eventually. But that'll to be so I can make a Imperial to join the Legion. Until then-.. For the Stormcloaks!

Once to avoid triggering Dragon spawns and make my character look a little better.

none, my character turned out perfect for me.

i use one-handed swords, different magic schools, and i dabble in some light lockpicking and im taking my time with smithing, slowly working my way into becoming a smith, playing as though my character is taking his time to learn it, instead of just instantly being great at it and creating tons of jewelry and armor/weapons to train it at a fast pace just to get what i want.

4

Gets to a stage when you think hmm a character with the skills and reputation of mine that is high up in x orginisation wouldnt be a standard infantry soldier in the leigon or delivering frost salts to a merchant.

Finally designed my chars face so it doesnt look 80 years old or like its been crushed in a vice so its all good, will stick it out this time around.

Once, I felt my Battlemage-ish Nord was becoming more like a sneaker/archer because of the game mechanics, so I switched to a sneaker/archer/thief/assassin Argonian. :)

Twice. First time stealth archer at level 28 because sneaking is waaaaay overpowered and the game became trivial. Second time arcane archer at level 10 because I wasn't happy with the roleplay. And I just started my (hopefully final) wood elf ranger who will not abuse sneaking but will use a companion for the first time.

As for character looks, can't you configure them in the middle of the game with the showracemenu console command (obviously if you're on PC)? I play in 1st person all the time so this doesn't affect me :P.

Once because I didn't realise you could go with stormcloaks during the opening. My character is a Nord and I want to side with them. Also I wasn't exploring and developing my character, wasn't really roleplaying. Restarted and having an amazing time, level 28 and I've only visited White Run and Markarth.

This game exceeded my ridiculously high expectations, it is amazing.

Zero. Well technically i did once early because i accidentally advanced past character creation without actually customizing.

I am very satisfied with the experience i am having & the challenge which expert difficulty presents. In Oblivion i did choose to restart once because of the leveling system (redistributed major/minor abilities so i could have more control over my level progression). Level scaling system being different in skyrim, i dont think im going to have a problem.

Too many. I'll get to about level 20, and then things about the way my character looks will start bugging me. Then, I make a new one, and the cycle repeats.

I am on my 5th character. Did not really enjoy any of the previous styles I was attempting to play. Current char is doing OK so far.
